Carlos Sainz
"Cariño?"Carlos called as he was about to leave the apartment.
"Yes?"Kiara replied from where she was slumped on the couch in the lounge, half asleep as she flipped threw the channels on the TV.
"I'm going to get the food."He said."Want me to get anything on the way?"
"No."She said.
"Are you sure?"He asked.
"Actually..."She added."I want a dark chocolate."
"But you hate dark chocolate?"He chuckled.
"Shut up and get my chocolate,Sainz."She snapped.
He laughed, starting to walk out of the apartment."Yes,ma'am."
He started off downstairs to the car, thinking about her. She was,in fact, a little moody so far. This morning, she had gone for another run. He had just woken up when she was about to leave,so he offered to go with her, since he wouldn't mind a jog around Monaco in the morning. But she told him that she wanted to be alone to clear her mind a little. He respected that, but had a feeling that she wasn't going for a run after all...
Carlos reached the nearest store and went right in to get what he needed. As he strolled through the store,he couldn't help but think that Kiara was mad at him. It seemed so,since she was acting totally different now. And last night, before he could even give her a kiss to start something, she was already asleep.
He bought whatever he needed, along with Kiara's chocolates. Then,he left the store and started to drive back again.
He needed to figure out what was wrong,if he did something. Perhaps he had said something dumb without realizing it...Or maybe she was still mad about that prank he pulled the night he came to Monaco. It really seemed like she was still upset from it. And an extreme guilt hit him as he thought more about it. He shouldn't have pranked her like that in the first place...
So,Carlos stopped the car and looked out the window at the line of stores. Maybe getting her a gift as an apology could work...Kiara Wolff
Carlos took longer than expected. And Kiara didn't know what to make of it. The closest store was only two streets away. Kiara could bet that even if she was on foot, she would have been faster.
She sighed and leaned back in the couch, closing her eyes for a moment. She pulled on the hood of her hoodie,well...Carlos's hoodie, and turned off the the TV a moment later.
She waited and waited, hoping that any car she heard passing by outside was Carlos. He was gone for too long, actually. And she was starting to get worried.
She decided to get up and walk to the room where her phone was. She picked up the phone and texted Carlos, waiting a moment. When he didn't reply after in time, she called him. But she cut the call as soon as she heard the apartment door unlock and open.
Kiara walked out of the bedroom and moved back to the lounge, where she heard the sound of shopping bags being set down on the coffee table.
And when she entered, she frowned as she saw Carlos put his hands on his hips and look down at the bags,as if proud of himself.
"Carlos?"She called as she walked over to him.
He turned around and looked down at her as she asked."What took you so long?" She looked at the shopping bags. "Where did you even-"
"Listen to me,"He said, putting his hands on her arms with a soft look in his eyes."I'm sorry, okay?Whatever I said, you know I didn't mean it. And you know that it wasn't true."
"What are you on about?"She lifted an eyebrow in confusion as he leaned down and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
"I'm sorry for making you worried and I'm sorry for hurting your feelings."He said, then stepped back and holding one of her hands tightly.
"I'm confused."She snorted as he pulled her towards the coffee table.
"All your favorites."He said and pointed to all the shopping bags.
There were about two Dior bags, one Louis Vuitton,Chanel and a shoe box which looked to be Saint Laurent.
"You're insane!"She snapped, almost hitting him on the arm.
"But let-"
"No,you idiot!" She groaned, then wrapped her arms around him in a hug. "You are so..."
"Forgiven?"He asked,hugging her back.
"For what?"She chuckled, pulling back and looking up at him. She looked at the shopping bags with a soft smile, thankful. He probably bought her items she already had, since she could already tell by slightly peaking in. But she didn't care. It was the thought that count.
"I was stupid."He said, kissing her cheek. "I should never have played a prank on you like that..."
"Wait."She frowned."You think I'm still mad about that stupid prank of yours?"
"You mean...You're not still mad?"
"No"She said as she pulled back. "Why would you think that?"
"Uh..."He pursed his lips, putting a hand on the back if his neck. "Well,I..."
"Carlos,"She said,giving a weak smile."Relax."
He gave her an apologetic look, making her feel guilty. And what she felt guilty about was the one thing she was terrified of saying to him. She was scared of his reaction, but realized that she could not hide it any longer. He had a right to know.
Kiara stood on the tips of her toes and gave him a quick kiss on the lips, then said."I need to tell you something..."
He gazed down at her and nodded.
"Promise me you won't get mad."She said."Promise you won't walk out without saying something."
"I promise."He said."But why are you-"
She fidgeted with her fingers, unable to meet his eyes now. The words were right on her tongue, right there. She just needed to work up the courage.
"Carlos..."She took in a breath,then told him. "I'm pregnant."
Carlos froze,not saying a word.
