Madisyn and Julie were walking to the stairs in front of the dorms where the boys told them to meet there. Once they saw them, the group of transfers started walking through the courtyard to get to the assembly. Madisyn put her sunglasses on and walked beside Luis.

" You know, I think this place is running very low on the brothers quotient." Russ started a conversation.

" Yeah," Julie said, looking around. " Hey, I wanna know who this new Coach Orion is. My dad said if I didn't like him I could come right home."

" That's nice." Russ chuckled. " My dad said I better stay in on scholarship or he'll whip my butt." He told them. Madisyn and everyone else let out light laughs and looked around at some students who were surrounded by books, sitting in the grass.

" You know, I heard in the dorm that the guy played for the Minnesota North Stars and-"

" And got suspended for punching out his own coach! I know I heard about that too. I think that's badass." Madisyn interrupted Luis, grinning. Dwayne gave her a concerned look about how excited she was about violence. Madisyn innocently shrugged.

" You mean the Dallas Stars. I heard he punched out a fan." Dwayne added.

" I heard he was a Buddhist," Julie started, looking back at Madisyn who looked confused. " You know, like Kung Fu or Richard Gere."

Madisyn nodded and grinned. She looked over and saw Miles walking on the other side of the courtyard with a bunch of guys dressed in red letterman jackets, all of them laughing at something. She focused back in the conversation.

Ken, who made a face at Julie's sentence, corrected, " Kung Fu wasn't a buddhist. He was a Trappist monk."

" Are you talking about the old Kung Fu or the Further Adventures of the New Kung Fu?" Russ asked Ken, using his hand as he spoke. Madisyn and Luis looked at each other confused.

" Y'all watch too much TV." Dwayne said.

" Shoot, that's the safest thing to do in my hood." Russ told them before they all got stopped, looking at the billboard with a giant map on it. They saw where the auditorium was and started walking in the direction of it.

They made their way into the auditorium and found six open spots next to each other. Madisyn pointed it out and they all sat down. Madisyn was stuck between Russ and Julie.

" Hey, you know what?" A guy said behind them. The Ducks turned around and saw a large group of the jocks, the ones Madisyn had seen earlier. Madisyn held in her laugh, knowing that this was the varsity team. " You Ducks don't belong here at Eden Hall."
