Madisyn opened the door to Matthew's house after the funeral. She kicked her shoes off, seeing an unfamiliar pair on the ground next to where her's rested. The sound of women's laughter came from the living room and Madisyn tilted her head, a glare set.

" Matthew, I will kill you.." Madisyn mumbled to herself as she went to the living room.

What Madisyn didn't expect to see was her mother sitting on the couch, getting all the love and cuddles from Colton. Her hand slapped onto her mouth after a loud gasp left her lips. Melissa turned around on the couch and her smile was bright and wide as she stared at her daughter. Madisyn teared up at the sight of her mom. Melissa got up, she opened her arms to hug Madisyn. Madisyn crushed her mother in a tight hug that was long awaited. 

" I have missed you SO much! Things are so bad here, and I'm so sorry I haven't called as often." Madisyn confessed and fell onto the couch. Melissa gave her one of those mother smiles that just made all her worries go away.

" I have something for you." Melissa told her, reaching into her back pocket and handing Madisyn a cassette tape.

Madisyn raised an eyebrow and looked at the label.

' For you, Mad Dog. I miss you '

Another sight that made her tear up. It wasn't every day that Dean Portman told someone he missed or loved them. It's rare to get any affection out of Dean in fact.

Madisyn let out a breathy laugh and smiled, setting it on her stomach. " I miss him too." She looked at her mom and brother happily then at Matthew, who was smiling at the sight of his girlfriend and son happy. " OH! Are you guys coming to my game tomorrow night?"

" Of course!"

" Nope."

Melissa and Matthew both replied. Madisyn glared at Matthew, who gave her a heart with his hands. She sarcastically laughed before covering her brother's eyes and flipping him off. Melissa snickered and grabbed Colton.

" Time for bed!" Colton groaned and complained all the way up the stairs. Madisyn and Matthew laughed hearing him curse Melissa out using non bad words.

" Hey Mads.." Matthew started quietly and Madisyn looked at him curiously. He pulled a velvet ring box out of his pocket and tossed it towards her. 

Madisyn's eyes widened at the sight and she opened the box. She nearly gasped at the sight of the diamond and band. She looked back at Matthew then to the ring a couple times before closing it with a big breath.
