Madisyn knocked on the Riley house door. She had her bag full of stuff on her back and a nervous look on her face. Miles had called her that morning and told her everyone agreed to put the beef aside to go into the New Year, so Madisyn was there to get ready with Rick's girlfriend, Mindy.

The door opened and Miles' dad stood in front of her. Madisyn's eyes widened, not expecting to see him. She awkwardly smiled, " Mister Riley! Nice to see you, hope you had a good holiday!"

" Dad, move, please." Miles pleaded. He heard the door but Rick blocked him in his room, claiming that Madisyn should be greeted like any other guest. Miles punched his brother's gut before running down the stairs. When his dad moved out of the way, Miles smiled apologetically at her. " Sorry."

" No worries. Thought I was going to die but it's fine." Madisyn sarcastically responded as she moved into his house. Miles closed the door behind her, laughing. She removed her shoes to be polite, turning to him. " I'm not joking. Your family seriously hates me."

" We could never hate such an astonishing player like yourself." Rick walked to the door with Mindy, Cole and Scooter behind him. Mindy gave the girl an actual real smile and Madisyn gave it right back to her before looking at Rick with raised eyebrows. He chuckled. " I'm serious. Beef put aside tonight, McKinning, remember? And you're actually a good player, as much as I hate to admit it."

" And as much as I love to admit it, you are still being a dick." Miles remarked, standing behind Madisyn to glare at his brother. Rick only gave a cheeky grin before looking back at his friends.

The three boys walked out the front door, Scooter telling Miles, " We're going to get the kegs. Cole's got a guy. Come on."

Miles, who didn't expect to go, shook his head. " No."

" McKinning is fine with Mindy. Let's go, junior." Rick called as he walked to the driveway where his car was.

" I'll be fine. Go." Madisyn urged Miles to go. He turned to her and raised an eyebrow, silently asking if she was serious. Madisyn nodded her head out the door and Miles sighed before leaving.

" Come on!" Mindy squealed, grabbing Madisyn's hand and running to the giant staircase that was displayed behind the front door. Madisyn tumbled but kept up with her quickly. They went through the hall before Mindy opened the door to a bedroom. " This is Rick's room. He said he didn't care if we got ready here."
