“Things have certainly gotten calmer….” I grumbled under my breath as I left the theater that served as the venue of my last lecture of the day.
Two weeks had passed since the excitement created by me and Luminous reached its peak, and since then, there was a steady decline in new people to tease, deceive or humiliate. I expected more stimulation from this place but it seems my plans had backfired.
Of course there wouldn't be anyone to talk to or interact with, the whole majority of them have turned their undivided attention to researching the applications of my and Luminus' essays….
And the regular students of the College weren't really entertaining. Sure, there were some who had some interesting motivations for treading the path of the esteemed Magia, but nothing I haven't seen before, all things being considered.
Even Agrippina was unavailable, as outlandish as that might sound….
Again, another unforeseen side effect of my borderline malicious actions….
She's now a professor, and while that wouldn't make her completely unavailable, it seemed the Imperial Crown had some more plans for her.
“I'm borreeed….” I groaned.
[[Have a little patience, master.]]Oh, easy for you to say. You make plans that span entire centuries, of course you would recommend patience.
I didn't want to hear such words from Ciel of all people, it even worsened my mood.
[[....while you're fundamentally correct, I must state my dissatisfaction with your insensitive words.]]
Eh, she suddenly got all formal with her speech, bad signs, bad signs…….
Yeah, sorry.
[[Apology accepted, master! Now, why don't you go see the city tomorrow? Who knows, something interesting might find you.]]Ohhh, I know what that means. It's all but guaranteed that something is gonna happen tomorrow if Ciel says it like that.
And I don't even need any special directions like ‘move in so-so direction for so-so meters’, Ciel would just make sure it happened without any effort on my part.
That sounds like a good idea, as expected of Ciel-sensei.
[[Fufufufu…]]Feeling impatient, I hopped through space to reach the suite that now served as my home.
Luminous wasn't here yet but she should show up in a few minutes.
While we were both students under the School of Daybreak, our schedules differentiated slightly, mainly due to our choices for what classes to take though.
So, while we shared some classes, there were days like this where one of us arrived before the other.
Of course, I could avoid classes under the pretense of research – Junior researcher perks – but then I would be sitting around doing nothing. I could research on my own but that seemed pointless and boring to me, and researching with others was temporarily impossible.
There was some tension within the Leizniz cadre due to Agrippina's astronomical rise in influence, in which our contribution was far from little. Essentially, a few of them weren't too pleased with our continued existence.
Contrary to how I perceived Cadres initially, it turns out that they aren't monolithic in nature, multiple factions existed but couldn't do much of anything because apparently, Leizniz was that much of a badass.
They could only grumble in silence, funny.
I had sunk into the soft cushion of the couch when the door opened and revealed Luminus. She looked completely different to how she used to walk around back in the Cardinal World.
