So... someone actually took me up on the offer to write two after story chapters for Bane of History. This is the first of those, so enjoy...for those of you that read it anyway.

“How is the progress with the restoration of our roads?” Head resting on his propped up fist, Rimuru looked up at the ogre towering over his desk.

“Yes. It's proceeding smoothly, albeit our pace is slower than estimated.” The black haired ogre responded, looking sternly at the clipboard clutched in his bestial fingers.

‘Well yeah, you guys aren't Geld.’ Rimuru sighed.

“I see. What's next on our order of priorities?”

It's been weeks after control of Tempest had been officially transferred from Rohr and rebuilding the fallen superpower was just as tedious as Rimuru had expected.

“The…uh…mass naming, sir.” The nameless Ogre still couldn't say the words without cringing, the concept still sounded outlandish to him.

When power had been transferred, the monsters weren't especially thrilled about being under the rule of an unknown individual, especially not one who claimed to be Rimuru Tempest of all people.

Scepticism was high and their natural inclination towards confrontation made things much more harder for Rimuru.

So he simply did what he knew how to do best, relatively…he promised to name every unnamed monster remaining in Tempest.

Their response to his promise made him glad that Diablo was absent in his mission to announce the new state of things to the world.

But they had no choice, the leader they respected had clearly ceded his authority, who were they to grumble?

“Ah yes, is everyone assembled already?” He rose from his seat, walking around the desk to stand next to his unfamiliar subordinate.

“Not yet sir. The announcement to gather was just made and the people working away from town need a little more time to return.” He sounded a bit nervous.

“Maybe we should have freed today's schedule up after all…” Rimuru wasn't addressing him but the ogre shifted on his feet, as if searching for an answer.

KNOCK

‘Hm?’

“Come in.” Rimuru called out to the visitor.

The door opened and revealed…Damaris.

She seemed to have ditched her Farmenas Knight armour and was casually clothed, she still looked a bit on guard despite reaching this far unharmed.

“Oh, Damaris. How you doing?” Rimuru asked casually as he extended his hand to the black haired ogre, who placed his clipboard in it.

“Lord Rimuru..I-”

“I'm gonna stop you right there.” Rimuru interrupted her.

“Pardon?”

“Don't start with the Lord thing, address me as you always have.” Rimuru wasn't looking forward to being referred to with such formality by someone he could at least have some fun with.

“Uh…sure.” Damaris saw no point in arguing with him when his face looked so pleading.

“Good, so what are you here for?” Rimuru walked past her and left the office, Damaris fell into step behind him.

“I've had some time to think about a few things,” She began.

“Oh? About what?” Rimuru didn't seem to be paying much attention as his eyes met those of the various monsters they passed as they moved through the building designated as the city hall.
