Tenma year 712
Seven hundred years after the end of the great tenma war, a monumental turning point in the world order of the cardinal world.
The major powers that participated in the war had receded into the shadows of history, nothing more than urban legends to the denizens of the current era.
Over the course of seven centuries, power in the world had shifted multiple times. At the onset of the new epoch, the Jura-Tempest Federation had wielded monopoly over the world's main economy, a massive superpower that had the reins of technological advancements firm in its grasp.
But nothing was eternal, and without the influence of its ridiculous occupants power was wrested from the land of monsters.
The Kingdom of Ingracia rose up against the Federation after two hundred years of quiet and docile behaviour. With the alliance of a few other nations, the human kingdom overthrew Tempest's dominance. Turning the former superpower into a vassal state.
That was not the end. Amidst the alliance of human countries, conflict brewed. And after a hundred more years of cooperation, another war broke out. In the midst of the conflict, a great leader rose.
A named monster whose origins were unknown, Rohr.
Rohr rallied the former Tempest Federation and took advantage of the infighting, using the opportunity to establish Tempest once again.
Ever since then, a delicate balance has been maintained between all the nations in the cardinal world. The nations that didn't participate in the previous conflicts showing more prosperity due to them being unscathed.
Multiple skirmishes occurred between a few nations, but governments restricted themselves just enough to prevent an escalation into a full blown war. Till this day, there has been no more significant changes.

."Well this history book seems full of shit…"
I murmured in a bit of astonishment and a bit of annoyance. As someone who observed how everything had played out so far, it was a bit shocking to see how modified these stories are.
Hell, some of it makes zero sense whatsoever! Can't complain too much though, history is decided by the victors after all.
"Oi Rimuru, Lemme see that." A loud voice decided to interrupt my inner complaints.
"You sure? Reading this is totally pointless though, it's total bullshit." I warned as I waved the book around in a manner that deliberately appeared nonchalant.
"Of course I'm sure, the look on your face is enough proof of how annoyed you are. Reading that book would be very educational in that aspect." His smug voice infuriated me to no end, I felt like sending him to some inescapable void.
Wonder where I can find something like that….
[[If I may, we have something that perfectly fits that description.]]
Of course we do….Leave it to Ciel to go for any chance she sees to get rid of a nuisance, opportunism at its finest.
Can't argue with her though, if I had a little less self-restraint I would long have deleted the smug red demon.
Since thought acceleration automatically turned on, my little mental tangent didn't affect the conversation in any way.
"Oh you can have it. Here." I extended the book towards Guy Crimson, a wide smile painted on my face.
He looked confused for a bit before extending his hand to take the book from me.
"Oops."
"You crazy slime!"
