After the commotion at the bar, I hurriedly went outside to go home.

My mind was so busy wandering around that I didn't noticed Xavier was following me from behind. He was so quiet, kanina niya pa ba ako sinusundan?

"Xavier?"

"Hey..." he uttered.

I awkwardly smiled at him.

"Are you sure you're okay?" naniniguro niyang tanong.

I slowly nod my head. "Oo, thank you ulit..." I trailed off "uhm for helping me. Mauna na ako sa'yo, I still have schedule for tomorrow."

His lips pressed into thin line and a flicker of skepticism clouded his gaze.

"I'll take you home," he said that made my mouth gaped open.

"W-What?" I stuttered. Fuck! I didn't expect him to say that.

"I insist, Serena. You can just lead the way. Seriously, you can't drive if you're drunk," he said, his voice was steady and commanding. Serena? What happened to Bel?

I bit my lower lip, embarrassed.

I'm not even his responsibility kaya nakakahiya na gagawin niya 'to.

He shrugged his shoulders. "They're big enough, Serena," he said before he walked towards me and snatched the car keys on my hand.

"Get in, it's cold."

I took a deep breath and watched him slid himself in my car. He adjusted his seat first before he started the engine and drove away.

As we drove through the city streets, a comfortable silence settled between us. Kahit isa sa amin ay walang nagsasalita. I glanced at him and noticed how focus he is on driving.

I pressed my lips and anchored my gaze outside the window. I was busy admiring the view when the window rolled down kaya agad akong lumingon kay Xavier at naabutang nakatingin ito sa akin.

"Thought you might want some fresh air," he said, his voice soft, almost hesitant.

I creased my forehead when I realized this is not the way to my apartment.

"Where did you take me?"

He chuckled. "Relax, Bel. I just want to show you something."

I narrowed my eyes at him.

As soon as I stepped outside, the only noise I can hear were the soft chirping of crickets and the rustle of leaves filling the air. I saw him sat on the car hood as he watched my reaction.

My jaw dropped when I turned around and realized we were on the edge of a hill, overlooking the twinkling city lights below. It was serene, a perfect escape from the chaos of the night.
