Chapter 15

Halos isang linggo rin ang lumipas bago humupa ang usapan tungkol sa posibleng relasyon namin ni Luke. Thanks in large part to the press conference we held to set the record straight.

Palagi akong kinakabahan kapag nagsasalita sa harap ng madaming tao, pero alam kong kailangan kong gawin 'yon para matapos na ang lahat.

The press conference room buzzed with anticipation as we took our seats in front of the microphones.

Tumikhim ako, saglit na sumulyap kay Luke na nasa tabi ko bago tumingin sa mga taong nasa harap namin. Kinakabahan kong hinawakan ang mic at nagsimulang magsalita.

"Thank you all for coming. Luke and I are here to clarify the recent news. The photo that circulated was taken out of context. Luke and I are just partners in the movie, and he was helping me through a difficult situation during a shoot. Sana po ay huwag niyong bigyan ng malisya 'yong nakita niyo."

I saw Luke nodded in agreement. "We understand how things can be misinterpreted, but there is nothing romantic between us. We hope this clears up any confusion," he shortly added.

Tumahimik ako at pinanood kung papaano magsulat ng mabilis ang mga reporters sa papel na dala-dala nila kaya nagsalita ako ulit. This maybe the right time para malaman nila ang totoo. The room fell silent when I spoke again.

"There's one more thing I want to share. Uhm...remember I mentioned in my interview before na meron akong special someone," I halted and took a deep breath. "It was my boyfriend, and he's an incredible person. He's actually part of the Silent Echoes."

Narinig ko ang pagsinghap nilang lahat nang marinig ang pangalan ng banda at nagpalitan ng bulong kong sino sa kanila ang boyfriend ko.

Alam kong pag sinabi ko ang lahat magiging publiko na ang lahat sa amin ni Xavier. Pero ayaw ko rin naman mangyari 'to ulit kapag tinatambal ako sa panibagong artista.

They need to know how professionalism works in this industry. Walang pag aalinlangan kong inabot ang mic sa harap ko at sinabi ang pangalan niya.

"Si Xavier po ang boyfriend ko. I hope this clear things up and sana po maintindihan niyo po kung saan kami nanggagaling. I know we are both public figures, pero tao pa rin naman po kami. We also have feelings and emotions kagaya niyo. I hope revealing this truth to you guys will stop all of the rumors about me and Luke. Thank you," dagdag ko kaya mas lalong lumakas ang bulongan sa loob.

Silent Echoes was finally getting the recognition they deserved, kaya hindi ako magtataka kung bakit gano'n na lang ang reaksyon nila sa sinabi ko.

After the conference, I stepped outside, the sun shining brightly as I breathed in the fresh air. Dahil sa ginawa ko ay nawala ang bigat na dala-dala ko simula pa nong isang linggo.

My eyes widened when I saw Xavier waiting for me outside the building. Nakasandal ito sa kotse habang may hawak na bouquet ng bulaklak sa kamay niya.

A warm smile appeared on his lips when he saw me walking towards him.

"Hey," he said softly, handing me the bouquet on his hands. "You did great in there."

Kinuha ko 'yon at inamoy ang mga rosas na pulang-pula pa. This is the first time I received flowers from someone, galing pa sa kanya.

I smiled at him, my heart swelling with gratitude and love. "Thank you, Xav. For everything. Siguro naman hindi ka na magseselos niyan? I already revealed to everyone na may relasyon tayo!"

He chuckled as he stared at me, his eyes full of love and amusement. Kahit hindi niya sabihin sa akin ay alam kong gusto niya rin malaman na ng lahat kung ano ba talaga siya sa buhay ko at ano ako sa buhay niya.
