I stood in front of my walk-in closet, choosing clothes I should bring to our La Union trip. Meron kasi kaming schedule ng shooting three days from now. But, Xav and I decided na mauna na lang kami doon for us to spend time with each other.
I picked out a few outfits, which includes comfortable clothes for the beach and some casual evening wear.
I decided to call her to inform her of the change in plans. I dialed the number and waited for her familiar voice to answer.
"Hello, Serena! How's the packing going? Ayos na ba ang mga dadalhin mo?" Tita Ara greeted cheerfully.
"Hi, Tita. It's going well. But, I need to tell you something..." I trailed off.
"Ano 'yon?" mabilis niyang tanong.
"Oh? Bakit maaga? May sinabi ba si Direk tungkol diyan?" she asked with a hint of curiosity in her voice.
I took a deep breath. I'm not yet ready to tell her but, I don't have a choice. She'll know about this sooner or later.
"Well, we...we just got back together. Naisip lang nami it would be nice to spend some time together before the shoot begins?"
Ilang segundo siyang tahimik sa kabilang linya bago nagsalita. "Are you sure about him, Serena? I thought you already moved on from him?"
I let out a sigh. "Tita, I was lying when I said that. And yes, I'm sure of him. What happened between us was just a misunderstanding.
We can't afford another loss," she said, her voice sounded concern.
I nodded my head. I understand where she's coming from. Simula noong naghiwalay kami noon ni Xav, I wasn't able to focus well on my acting. It wasn't long before I was able to regain my pace again.
"Don't worry, Tita. I'll make sure to balance everything," I assured her.
I continued packing after the call. Naligo na rin ako at nag ayos pagkatapos.
I simply wore a pair of tailored black skinny jeans, and a crisp white button-down shirt tucked neatly.
My hair was pulled back into a low, loose bun, and I wore a pair of large, dark sunglasses to hide my face.
Later that afternoon, Xavier arrived to pick me up.
He gave me a quick kiss on the cheek. "Are you ready?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Ready," I replied, smiling.
"You'll ruin my hair," I said, pouting. He laughed at me and nodded his head.
