Chapter 26

Right after they finished recording, nagpaalam muna kami ni Samantha sa kanila. No'ng una ay ayaw pa ako payagan ni Xav at baka kung ano naman daw ang mangyari sa aming dalawa. But, I insisted knowing we're gonna talk about him.

Hindi ko alam kung anong katotohanan ang gustong sabihin sa akin ni Samantha but, I am up for it. We went to the nearest coffee shop from their building. Sa may pinakasulok kami pumwesto para mag usap.

We ordered coffee first and she broke the silence between us as we wait for it to be served.

She cleared her throat to catch my attention. "So...about what you saw before," panimula nito. "Wala talagang namagitan sa amin ni Xav. You know how much I hate you...before."

I shot my brows up. "Before?"

Tumingin siya sa akin at tumango. "Yeah. I was jealous of you dahil ikaw ang legal na anak ni Mommy. Sa tuwing kinukumpara tayong dalawa ay pakiramdam ko palagi akong talo. Ikaw palagi 'yong tama sa mata nila. That's why it makes me happy na ako palagi ang kinakampihan ni Mommy kapag nag aaway tayo."

I looked at her with disbelief. I thought ako lang ang nakakaramdam noon. We used to be compared with each other since then. Lalo na sa mga kakilala ni Mommy. She has many circle of friends kaya sa tuwing nakikita nila kaming dalawa ni Samantha ay hindi maiiwasan 'yon.

"That doesn't justify all you did to me in the past," I muttered.

I was also mad at her, and jealous. But, I never imagined to do things that I know would harmed her.

"I know, Serena. That's why I wanted to apologize for all of my mistakes in the past. Iyong nakita mo noon na magkasama kami ni Xav, that was nothing. Walang malisya 'yon para sa kanya. But when I found that we have pictures together, naisip ko gamitin 'yon para masaktan kita," pag amin nito.

"How could you do that?" I asked in disappointment. Our relationship was robbed for five fucking years. Tapos mag sosorry lang siya?

Tumungo ito, halatang nagsisisi. "I-Im really sorry, Serena. I understand if you won't forgive me. After all, hindi pa rin naman ako napapatawad ni Xav sa ginawa ko hanggang ngayon," aniya habang pinaglalaruan ang daliri sa lamesa.

Natigilan ako. "What do you mean?"

Her lips formed into thin line. "When you guys broke up, he got mad at me for not trying to clarify the news about us. He even insisted to quit the band for you pero hindi ako pumayag at tinakot siya na...sasaktan kita," she trailed off.

A lone tear fall of my cheek. I was mad at her but I felt more sorry for Xav. All this time, he was still trying to protect me from her. But, I just pushed him away and wasted five years avoiding him.

Nanginginig ako sa galit kay Samantha pero kinalma ko ang sarili ko. Lalo na nang makitang parating na ang kape na inorder namin. Inayos ko ang sarili ko at pilit na ngumiti sa waiter.

"Uh...Miss Serena? Pwede po ba kaming magpapicture?" nag aalangan na tanong nito.

I wanted to say no. Gusto ko nang umuwi pero ayaw ko naman magmukhang masama sa paningin nila kay tumango na lang ako. I tried my best to show a sincere smile when he took a photo of us.

Nang makaalis ito ay malamig na tingin ang itinapon ko kay Samantha. "I don't think kaya ko pang marinig ang sasabihin mo. I already knew the truth so I don't have any reason to waste my time on you. Kung ineexpect mo na papatawarin kita dahil sa ginawa mong pag amin ngayon ay nagkakamali ka," matigas kong sabi at tumayo sa kinauupuan ko.

Nawalan na ako ng gana inumin ang kape ko. I would love to shove the coffee on her head but I'm not that evil.

She nodded as if she's expecting my reaction. Pilit itong ngumiti sa akin. "I understand. I'm sorry, Serena."
