Part 1: Chapter 9

Eden didn't wait for Kesh to recover from her anger, so she started home. Eden really wanted some quiet and time to herself, but as soon as she was in front of her house, she knew that wasn't happening. Eden unlocked the front door, and immediately saw Fabian yelling about something in Faye's face (the usual), Lib was standing at the edge of the staircase, and Declan was trying to reprimand Cora about who knows what! Eden wasn't even paying attention to what anyone was saying since she was so overwhelmed. And as if things couldn't get more insane, Mel walks into the living room, holding Leona in his arms. Everyone goes still for a moment.

"Why is he still here?" Fabian asks Faye.

"Could you all just relax?" Faye says sitting down.

"No! You fucking called Dad back here as if shit wasn't hard enough before!" Fabian replies.

"No, no, Fabian it's alright." Mel says in a soft tone. "We were going to leave as soon as possible."

"Who the hell is "we"?" Fabian asks him. As if on cue, there's a knock at the back door. Everyone looks at the door, and then at Mel, distrustfully.

"Mel?" a deep, male voice calls from outside.

"Yeah, it's open!" Mel calls back.

"What, no! What the fuck, Mel?" Fabian yells as the man enters the house anyway. "This isn't your house! You don't get to just invite strangers in here!"

"Hold on, hold on." Mel pleads. "Here us out." The man at the door was a tall, black man who was wearing a very bulky coat. Meaning, a lot of space to hold weapons probably.

"Is this her?" The black man asks Mel, looking at Leona. "My goodness, she's so beautiful." the man says, suddenly taking Leona out of Mel's hands. Eden, Fabian, and Lib react quickly to this.

"Woah, woah, don't you fucking touch her!" Lib yells.

"Seriously, Mel?" Eden asks him.

"How are we supposed to know he's not some molester?" Fabian asks.

"Because!" Mel loudly says, getting everyone's attention. "He's my partner!" Everyone looks confused.

"What?" Lib asks. Cora and Declan continue to look baffled, and Eden especially doesn't know how to feel about the situation.

"Your partner? Like in crime or some shit?" Fabian asks with hope.

"No, no." Mel says awkwardly. "Like my boyfriend. I'm bisexual."

"What the fuck?" Fabian asks, slapping his hands over his face.

"His name is Bob." Mel says looking at the stranger. "We met at a diner, and we've been seeing each other for some time now."

"Alright, enough! I don't give a shit! Why is he here?" Fabian says to Mel.

"We wanted to take Leona." Bob announces, bouncing Leona in his arms. Everyone looks at Mel and Bob in utter disbelief.

"Excuse me?" Fabian suddenly asks.

"We- We want to take Leona with us." Mel says, smiling.

"We don't even know where the hell you go when you leave. You think we'd trust you with Leona?" Fabian asks.

"Mel, you can't just take our sister away." Eden tells him, feeling angrier than before.

"But it's his baby." Bob interferes.
