Part 2: Chapter 15

Thursday morning. November 26.

Things were quiet in the Gallagher home. Two nights ago, after Fabian's fight with their dad, everyone stayed in their rooms the rest of that whole night all the way to Wednesday. 

The night Mel was bailed out by Lib, everyone seemed to be a bit different. No one spoke to each other. Everyone just secluded themselves. Not to mention, Lib decided to walk out again, and that did not help the Gallaghers' spirit at all. But today was Thanksgiving holiday. This was just about everyone's favorite holiday, and it was their Granddad's favorite time of year as well. Therefore, everyone tried their best to get more festive than they actually felt.

Fabian called Vic and Kim early in the morning to tell them about the mess that happened and their lack of food in the house, and Kim and Vic decided to bring the majority of the food to the Gallagher house. Cora was helping to clean up the house for once, Declan wanted to make decorations, and Eden truly wanted to contribute, but she couldn't find the spark that everyone else had already found.

"Hey, Fabian." Declan calls out while stapling leaves he found outside to the kitchen walls.

"What's up?" Fabian asks, washing dishes.

"Where's Lib?" Declan asks back.

"I have no idea." Fabian answers truthfully.

"We're not gonna go and find her?" Declan asks. "She could be gone for a whole month again!" He looks around for someone to back him up.

"I'm not worried about it." Fabian lies. Declan makes an angry sound under his breath. Eden joins the conversation, and goes to sit on the dining chair in the kitchen.

"Don't take it like that, Dec." Eden assures him. "Fabian's just saying that because he believes Lib's just going through a phase."

"What?" Declan asks.

"Well I'm not wrong." Fabian scoffs. Eden was the only one who could seek the truth through Fabian's words. Fabian is definitely sad about Lib being gone, but at the same time, he's most likely still heated about that argument Tuesday night.

"What phase are you even talking about? What kind of phase could involve missing Thanksgiving dinner?" Declan asks, baffled.

"You know, like running away from home. That kind of thing." Eden answers.

"Our granddad did stuff like that at Lib's age. Faye did it, I did it. Eden will probably do it sometime soon as well." Fabian adds in. Eden then smirks.

"Sometimes I wonder why I haven't already by now." Eden says, and Fabian manages to smile. 

Minutes later, there is an abrupt knock at the front door and everyone looks to it. Cora wants to go and open the door, but Fabian is quicker. As he opens the door, everyone is surprised by the guest.

It's Steph.

She's holding a huge plate with aluminum foil all over it. She looks like she did the time she left (which was a year ago). Her hair was still in the braid that she liked, and she still always stood so strongly, and so cheerfully. Though this was a complete surprise, everyone was happy to see her standing there, looking as if she was here to see if she could make things right around the house.

However, the only person who didn't seem to look pleased by her presence was Fabian.

"What're you doing here?" Fabian coldly asks. Steph doesn't even look hurt. She just keeps her smile, and this makes Fabian a little more agitated.
