Lib was standing still on the last porch step. Her back was turned to the house, and she stood with her arms folded against her chest.

Mitchell was very intimidated. After yesterday, he had no idea what Lib's wrath would be like today, and he was not ready for it.

When Lib hears footsteps approaching her, she turns around to see Mitchell finally coming toward her. She hops off the last step and moves to give Mitchell some room to stand perfectly across from her.

The two of them just exchange hesitant looks. It was like they were both wondering if this was the worst idea ever or not. Lib keeps her arms where they are while Mitchell acts as if he has no idea what to do with his own hands. He then clears his throat, ready to get the conversation started.

"Here I am." Mitchell states in a very dorky manner. Lib looks at him and almost wants to smile.

"Yeah." She says, nodding. "Here you are." There is a long pause. Mitchell waits patiently. "So I wanted to apologize." Lib finally says. Mitchell looks surprised. He expected her to do the exact opposite. "What I said yesterday, and how I've been treating you, was wrong. I'm a better friend than that, and I shouldn't have taken my frustration out on you. That wasn't cool." Lib spoke a bit awkwardly and Mitchell could easily tell that this was something that Lib was not used to doing very much.

"Thank you." Mitchell finally says back. Lib nods.

"Don't mention it." Lib replies, and she meant it. Lib sways her body around, and soon she turns on her heels to begin walking the other direction. She was full of surprises. Mitchell was not expecting that to be the only thing she came here to talk about.

"Really?" Mitchell asks her. Lib quickly turns around.

"'Really' what?" Lib asks.

"That's all you're gonna say? Nothing else?" Mitchell asks. "Just so you know, yesterday's blow up wasn't even the worst thing you did to me."

"I don't know what else to say." Lib says, but she cannot hide her lies. Mitchell starts to chuckle, but out of disappointment.

"You really don't, do you?" He says to her. "How about talking to me about the day you had sex with me?" Mitchell suggests.

"Stop yelling, someone could hear you!" Lib tells him, overreacting about it.

"I'm not yelling." Mitchell tells her calmly. "Listen, if you were gonna regret doing it this much, why did we do it in the first place?" Lib looks incredibly stumped by this question.

"I don't know." Lib truthfully answers.

"Well could you try your best to figure it out?" Mitchell asks. Lib just continues to stare at him. "Look I don't know about you, but I went through with it because I think you're an amazing girl, and I want nothing more than to just be around to make you happy. I like you a hell of a lot. I thought that was clear. And if you didn't feel the same, you really should've said something!"

"Well I mean you kissed me a lot! What was I supposed to say? Everything was happening so fast." Lib explains.

"Oh, please! Don't give me that. You and I both know you've got a mouth and a whole lot of nerve, so you definitely would have said something if you didn't want me to kiss you." Mitchell argues. Lib groans.

"Alright, whatever!" she gives up. "I did like the kiss, but I don't know what I was thinking after that."

"Maybe you were thinking that maybe you could like me too." Mitchell suggests. Lib's hands race through her thick hair.

"I don't know about any of that either!" Lib exclaims.

"What do you mean?" Mitchell asks, amazed by her stubbornness. "Just answer this. When we were together that day, what did you feel?" he continues. "Were you regretting everything right off the bat? Or did it feel right?"

Lib huffs and puffs, pacing around. She couldn't tell if she couldn't answer this question, or if she just didn't want to. After a good minute goes by, Mitchell loses patience.

"Lib!" he pushes on.

"Yes!" Lib yells. "I liked being with you!"

"So what are we doing here?" Mitchell yells back. "Why are we standing here, talking about apologies and regrets if it was all so "great"?"

"Because I was unsure!" Lib explains again.

"Of what?" Mitchell questions more.

"Of everything!" Lib replies.

"You should have said something to me!" Mitchell says for the second time. "You should've never kissed me back. You should have left before it ever went further! You should have left so that I wouldn't fall in fucking love with you!" he lets out. Lib pretends not to hear him.

"Mitchell, it was all a mistake!" Lib tells him, frustrated.

"Well fuck, not for me!" he says back. Lib immediately takes back what she said. She felt so terrible. She knows she's done some crazy things before, but this was so wrong.

"Mitchell..." she starts to say softly. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that. But I just – ..."

"No." Mitchell snaps to Lib's surprise. "It's fucking fine. You don't need to explain yourself." After that, Mitchell is ready to turn around and leave her. But as he turns to walk away, Lib is already calling him back.

"Alright, fine!" Lib calls. "I'm a dick, Mitch! I'm a dick, I said it!" Mitchell looks at her with a hopeless stare.

"That's not what I want from you." Mitchell explains to her. "I already know you're a dick."

Even though it wasn't meant to be a joke, Lib can't hold in her chuckle. Her eyes even get watery.

"Listen to me," Mitchell starts, and walks up to her again. "I'm not a tool."

Lib stares up at him, feeling the same emotions the last time they were here, alone together. She couldn't deny the truth. Mitchell was special to her.

"I know you're not." Lib tells him honestly.

"So you don't get to treat me like one." Mitchell continues.

"I know." Lib says, and she throws herself into him. Instead of pushing Lib away, Mitchell does not hesitate to wrap his arms around her. A warm embrace was all he needed to know things would be fine. He didn't care if Lib couldn't love him back, but he wanted them to be happy together.

Lib separates herself from Mitchell slightly just to look at him. Slowly, she brings her hand to his face. Then, without any warning, she reaches up to kiss his cheek.

They barely have a second to process this since they see that Eden is approaching.

"Hey, Eden." Lib says, stepping to the side of Mitchell.

"Hi." Eden says, smirking and clearly aware of what was going on out here. "I was gonna head home now."

"Okay, cool." Lib replies, but she sounds like she is still caught up in her and Mitchell's moment.

"Are you gonna tag along?" Eden then asks, looking at Mitchell. Mitchell looks at her and then at Lib.

"Sure." He thenanswers. The girls smile and the three of them chase each other to the house.
