Part 2: Chapter 3

Without causing too much suspicion, Ricki sneaks herself out her house at 11 pm. She told Eden to wait across the street from her house at the lamppost. But she was a bit agitated though. What was it about this Gallagher girl?

All those months cooped up, Ricki failed to stop flailing in her goddamn prison bed, just thinking and thinking of that innocent, freckly, carrot top.

When Ricki had her backpack on and walked out the house, she looked around and finally spotted Eden at the post. Ricki noticed the way the fluorescent light shined down on Eden.

"Damn!" Ricki mumbles under her breath, and tightens her grip on the straps of her backpack.

What the fuck am I doing? Ricki thinks in her mind. Why am I even giving her the time of day?

Suddenly Eden notices Ricki as well, and she puts her hands in her pocket. Once Ricki approaches Eden, they begin their walk. Eden had no idea where they were going, but she followed Ricki's lead. Besides, anywhere was pretty much fine as long as Eden had a reason to be around her.

"So!" Eden announces, and breaks the cold silence. Ricki just keeps looking forward, focusing on where she wants to go. "It's been pretty busy around here. Well like with me at home and stuff."

"Uh huh." Ricki replies.

"Oh, shit, you won't believe what happened at work!" Eden then says. Eden reminded herself of a small child trying to get their parents to care about their new $2 action figure. It was like she had to juggle fire and then swallow it in order to make Ricki interested or impressed with what she had to say. "So, Kesh was pregnant and she went into labor at the store. I was the only one there. You have no idea how freaked out I was. She was in a lot of pain, and there was water all over herself and the floor."

"Good for that ass lick." Ricki replied. Eden had forgot that fast that Ricki was shot by her.

"Yeah." Eden says awkwardly after. "Well I called the hospital, and they told me to do a whole bunch of medical type shit, and I was so nervous that I would mess something up." Ricki finally looks back at Eden.

"Don't tell me you had to fuckin' pull the baby outta the bitch." Ricki says. Eden laughs a bit.

"No, no, hell no. I'd probably hurt him. Or worse." Eden assures. "Anyway, I had to sit her somewhere more comfortable, time her contractions, and check her pulse and everything. It was pretty wild."

"So you've been playing Nurse while I've been gone, it seems." Ricki says, lighting a new cigarette in her mouth. Eden smirked.

"Sure, a nurse who had no idea what to do." Eden tells her, and Ricki looks back at Eden again with an eyebrow raised.

"Well did the chick, or the baby, die?" Ricki asks, and they take a right at the upcoming corner. Eden messes with the hem of her shirt.

"No." Eden finally answers.

"Then you did good." Ricki says, and Eden watches the smoke escape her mouth. Eden wouldn't lie to herself that she really wanted to be closer to Ricki's side so that their hands would bump together or something cheesy like that... but she knew Ricki wouldn't want her hands anywhere, but below Eden's panties. Eden shook the truth out her head.

"You know, I haven't even really told you the real crazy part yet." Eden suddenly says.

"Oh yeah?" Ricki murmurs. She was focused on her directions, which told Eden that they were closer to their mystery destination.

"Kesh found a new lover, and as soon as her baby arrived, they literally just took off!" Eden says.

"What the fuck for?" Ricki then asks.
