Part 3: Chapter 5

The next day, in the afternoon, Eden sits by Lib and Cora at the kitchen counter. They were all very hungry, and were too lazy to fix themselves anything to eat at the moment. Besides, they already knew Fabian was home, but he was taking forever to get out of his bedroom.

"Can you guys cook me something?" Cora suddenly whines off to the side.

"You're like, what, 11 years old now?" Lib replies. "Get it yourself."

"But you're the oldest." Eden reminds her. Lib looks to Eden, wondering whose team Eden was on.

"Exactly." Cora chimes in.

"So what?" Lib asks them both.

"So will you get your ass up, and feed us?" Cora asks. Lib just groans, and puts her head down on the counter.

After a minute, Fabian comes down the stairs, and looks at the girls.

"Why do you all look so dead?" Fabian asks them. The girls perk their heads up.

"Where have you been?" Lib asks him.

"We're waiting for you to cook something." Cora says tiredly. Fabian starts to chuckle after a while.

"Unbelievable." Fabian replies. "What will you do when I'm not around? Seriously, even you Lib?" Fabian says.

"Okay, but you were here. We would've gotten up if you weren't here." Cora argues back. Fabian rolls his eyes.

Suddenly, Eden stops thinking about food, and pays more attention to what Fabian is wearing. He had on a light grey cardigan, and over it was a darker grey blazer. The dress pants he had on also matched the color of his blazer, and he wore his pointy-toed hickory shaded shoes. Seeing him dressed like this made Fabian look like an alien. But a very suave one.

Before Eden can question his appearance, Cora speaks out first.

"What're you dressed so weird for?" Cora asks, but of course she was really trying to say that he looked handsome. Fabian smirks at her.

"Well, I forgot to mention that we're all going to have dinner with Steph and her family." Fabian says, but the girls lose their smiles.

"What?" Lib grumbles.

"Look, at least you'll be fed expensive food." Fabian adds in.

"Steph's got money?" Eden asks suspiciously. Eden knew that Steph was a sweet-hearted person, but if she was already well-off, why would she be with Fabian and his poor, rag-tag group of siblings?

"Yeah, her parents are loaded." Fabian answers. "Her mother's a doctor, and her stepfather's a professor."

"I did not know any of that." Lib says, shocked.

"Well, you'll learn a lot more than just that once you come with us to the dinner." Fabian tells her. "Now go upstairs. There's some clothes waiting for you up there."

"Clothes? What kind of clothes?" Cora asks.

"Steph thought it'd be nice to buy you all some things since you haven't had anything nice to wear in a while. " Fabian answers. Cora groans knowing exactly what kind of clothes Fabian was talking about.

"Just because you're all fancy, doesn't mean we have to be." Cora complains.

"Cora, don't be a twat." Lib tells her, but Cora ignores Lib.
