****Derek's P.O.V****

I browsed through the flowers, not paying any attention to the rain. Trying to find something that would look nice in the vase in the living room. I have had the vase for such a long time and never done anything with it. I eventually gave up and just got roses, better than nothing.

I started walking towards the house. I moved in that house a couple weeks ago but I've lived in this city for my entire life. The starfish was the name of the town. And I never understood why. No one knew.

I saw a girl that looked a lot like Emma walking by herself alone. I ran over to her and called her name. She froze in her steps. " Yeah?" I could hear. She sounded cold.

" Why are you here? Do you want to come inside and warm up? You're freezing!" I rubbed my remaining arm up and down hers, trying to make it warmer. She was wet, and wasn't wearing the best clothing for it.

" I was looking for something. I'm fine I swear I just found myself here and I'm walking back to my cliff that I would rather sit at." She got out of my grip and continued walking. A little faster this time. I really wanted to help her. She needed rest.

I caught up with her. " You need rest, your tired. Whats wrong with y-"

" You want to know what's wrong with me?" She asked, sounding really pissed. I guess trying to help didn't help. " Not being human!" She marched off into the dark and I could no longer see her. What did she mean by that? Human no matter how much I looked at her she looked like a human. Nothing different. What did she mean by it?

I Stood there lost in my thoughts. A bright light from the sky snapped me out of it, thunder coming soon after. When I got home I rested the flowers in the pot, along with water.

I held my head on my hands. What was exactly a human?
