****Emma's P.O.V****
I regretted everything I said, I told him about my dad. Sparks fell on me as he kissed my forehead. I liked it, but I didn't show. It's not that I loved or liked him. Okay, maybe I liked him a little bit but I couldn't completely trust him. I didn't want him to turn out like my other two friends, and I didn't want to tell him because that would scare him shit less.
I was truly considering showing him what I could do. I could make things that no human could. I could do things that no human could. Simple as that. He had this look on his face, unsure what to say.
" Yeah, I do. If it won't hurt anything." I said, I asked him to stand up and he did as I did. He seemed, shaky. I gave his jacket back to him. He put it on.
" Lean on the wall, makes it easier." He leaned on the wall and I stood in front of him. I put my hand on his heart. " This might hurt a little, not life threatening though." he nodded. I closed my eyes, and took a deep breath, concentrating on his heart. I used some energy to make him paralyzed for a little bit. He gasped for breath, and when he did I released my hand from him. Flipping out. Now look what you've done you fucking goon.
He dropped to the floor, sliding on the rocky wall. Thunder rumbled as I stepped away, I put my hands over my mouth. He had his hand on his heart now I felt like shit.
I ran over to him trying to make him feel better, I wasn't the best at healing honestly. I was more combat then healing. I never healed anyone. I automatic started healing a little bit after scraped by something, it would stop bleeding sooner then it was supposed to. So I never found a point in learning it.
" Fuck." I said. I think I went over board on the paralysis. It wasn't deadly from what I knew. He was able to move after about a minute, that was the longest minute I ever had to wait. I felt awful.
" How did you. . ." He lost his words.
I didn't say anything. he figured it out on his own.
" I believe you, Just, don't do that again unless I totally lose my mind." I nodded.
" Sorry about that." I looked away. " Don't be." Him trying to make me feel better.
He sat up, holding his head as if it hurt. I couldn't do anything about it really. I had shitty healing, witches weren't meant to heal. I didn't even think they had a real reason for being on the earth.
It was quiet, other then the rain falling and thunder rumbling we were quiet I could tell his mind was running with questions. And he asked.
" Why do you use them?" He asked.
" To live. There's other things you don't know about me that I would rather not say." I responded honestly.
" Mind sharing?" He asked.
I hesitated. " I would rather not." I responded.
" That's cool. Can humans learn it?" I wasn't positive.
" Small, not even powerful things. More like useful. Like there's small things you can do with it. Suck as pretty yourself up. Most girls learn beauty stuff, I did. Instead of brushing my hair I run my hand through my hair and if I use my magic it brushes it it's self. And I can change cloths with it. Which I found the most useful." I admitted.
" Neat, anything I can find useful?" I didn't know him well enough.
" You can do magic tricks to impress girls." I joked, he laughed.
" Not my type of thing." he laughed.
I looked at the sky, there was a black mist lingering around. There was a seeker watching us.
" I can demonstrate it again, and this time on a target other then you." I stood up and walked out of the protection of the rocks above us. I was getting really wet. I realized he couldn't see the mist. But I wanted to make sure. I asked him to stand by me and is he saw anything.
He said he saw a black mist.
I gave him a confused look He is something! But what? He didn't even seem to know. He didn't know what the mist was.
" There called 'Seekers' Really, there just here to piss you off and make you a little less bored. But Witches can kill them to make them more powerful, depending on how strong it was. This ones small though." I answered,
The seeker went to it's full form. It was a giant wolf, it had black paws, and red eyes. Getting ready to attack. It launched itself To me. I got really for a electricity spell. it would electrocute it to death depending how strong it was.
I moved my fingers around forming it. Just a bright white ball with sparks around it. I threw it at the wolf before it could reach me. Destroying it, and it vanishing. When it did, it dropped something.
I picked it up, it was a note. I was going to unfold it until Derek asked a question.
" So that was a seeker? And what you did was a lightning bolt?" He asked.
" Yup, I wouldn't call it a lightning bolt. Anything involving weather is strongest when it rains so I used it."
I unfolded the note. It read:
Emma Mist, 7-20-2016
If you ever receive this note, that would be a true blessing. But, the town your in. You have to leave it. There is a group named " The Smoke" And if you ever heard about it you need to leave immediately, at once. When you were young, the people you had to kill, hurt, they created a group. There the ones that are the cause of the wars. And you know why they want you. You've known almost you're whole life. I'm so sorry, I never wanted blood on you're hands or on mine. If you leave and keep moving you have a better chance of not getting caught. And god I hope you never do. Stay safe, I love you with all my heart.
Love, you're mother, Crystal Mist.
No fucking way it can't be her, she's dead, you saw her die right in front of you're eyes.
This note, the day it was written. Was exactly seven days before now. I stood there in shock, was she truly alive?
" What's wrong?" Derek put a hand on my shoulder, I jumped a little.
" Oh, um nothing." I shoved the note in my pocket. I would reread it later.
But could I really trust this? I heard about the Smoke group but I never encountered one of them. I never met one from what I knew. I didn't even know where the building was. Never knew what they did until I read the note.
My life is so fucked right now.
I had to apparently run away from the city. My mother was alive and I had no idea where she was. I just explained to Derek that I was a witch. What the hell is wrong with my life?
