**** Emma's P.O.V****

Mom

Death

Mom

I can't believe this. My mother was alive. Why didn't she see my secretly? Why did she decide to wait Years to tell me she was alive. I couldn't tell if I should cry or not. I didn't, I just became really angry. And I stayed up all night thinking about this.

Derek came to see me, in the morning. I think It was okay for me to talk. he reached in my pocket and I let him. As he read it a sad look came over his face. He sat next to me reading it.

" Have you heard about it?" he asked. Assuming he was talking about Smoke. I nodded. I didn't even know where to go. I didn't trust anyone enough. I trusted Derek if anything. But he lived here and I didn't want him to loose his happiness here because I want him to leave with me.

Did I say I wanted him to leave with me? What's wrong with you Emma?

I shook off the feeling.

" When are you leaving?" he handed the note back to me. He clenched his fists. I looked at his hands then his face. He was looking at the ground.

" No idea." I needed to leave. Or I could leave when the group knew I existed. That would be risky, but I wanted to be with Derek a bit longer. A lot longer.

" Well I don't want you to leave yet, as soon as the group finds out about you. I say run away. Go live you're life. Stay out of trouble. Fight to the death." but how will the group find me? How would we know? I would know, if something like that I could hear them around. They would be around all the time. We would hear about it.

" Okay. I won't." I had my mind set on it. We could figure this out.

We just hung out all day, it was sunny unlike yesterday. I felt like this was such a waste of time. Getting closer and closer to him. He might get killed because of me for all I know. I changed the subject to supernatural type things.

" So, do you know why you saw the mist the other day?" I didn't have a complete answer. He was something I didn't know. Or he didn't know what he was.

" No, I thought you did something so I could see it." I didn't.

" So you are something. . ." I accidentally said out loud. Shit.

" Come again?" I wasn't going to lie to him

" Well you might be a witch, warlock, something like that." I admitted. I wonder how he felt about that. I shouldn't have said that casually either.

" I am?"

" You might." I answered.

" How can you tell?"

" Well it's obvious when you can see the mist. You're something. And you have good eyes, that's rare. you could see me from you're house but no one else could right?"

" I see. . . But what am I?"

" No idea, most people figure it out after puberty. I did. Have you been seeing anything odd?" I asked. I wanted to know what he was so I could know how much of a threat he was. He could be a vampire, no hes not craving blood I'm pretty sure. A werewolf? No, not hairy. He would have better smell if anything. A dragon tamer? If he could talk and understand dragons he was one. I haven't seen a dragon in a couple of weeks.

I considered it.

" Ever seen a dragon?" I asked.

" Please don't tell me you can summon one?" He teased. i wasn't insulted

" No, seriously have you ever seen a dragon? I could take you to a dragons nest. And that could help determine what you are by my knowledge of dragon tamers." I answered. I knew where it was, didn't come out of it's nest much. Not like we were friends, I just saw it soar in the sky. Dragons didn't hurt people from what I knew. But I did know it hated warlocks. There would be a full war going on right now if they saw each other.

" Dragon tamers? This sounds like from a movie."

" A lot of this is. A fantasy movie if you will."

We started walking more up the hill, I cleared very small pathways a couple months ago so i could get around the mountain easier. When we reached the nest, it was in a large, but small cave. With rocks around it the nest. Nothing was there.
