Outside of the car, Tay said, "Get in."

New denied, saying, "I can go alone. If you want to see Nanon, just go. I didn't stop you from seeing him." New made a face.

Tay pleaded, "Please, New, get in. Why are you—" Tay didn't finish because Atom came over and said, "New, let's go. I will drive you."

New looked at Tay and then at Atom. Tay said, "I will drive him home. You go alone."

Atom didn't respond to Tay. He repeated to New, "New, let's go."

Tay made a face, thinking, "Really, this guy? I am really going to fire him."

New said, "Atom, sir, you two go alone. I can go on my own." With that, he walked past them, but Tay held his hand and said, "New, get in the car. Don't be so stubborn or—"

New challenged, "Or what?"

Tay looked at Atom, who was still standing there, and said, "Why are you still here? Go home." Atom then walked away.

New said, "Tay, let me go."

Tay said, "No, get in. Or do you want me to carry you so everyone can see?"

New said, "Are you crazy? Who gave you permission to touch me?"

Tay said, "No one. I did it on my own. Don't talk too much. Get in."

New pouted but got into the car. Inside, Tay said, "New, can you tell me the details? What did you feel when he was in your belly, and how did you feel when he was born? Did you struggle a lot?"

New said, "No, I don't want to tell you. What kind of question is this? I already told you everything. Now that is embarrassing."

Tay pleaded, "Please, New. I wasn't there by your side when that happened. You struggled alone. At least I want to hear everything."

New said, "I wasn't alone. If not for my mom and uncle, I would have been dead by now."

Tay immediately stopped the car. New said, "Tay, I told you I don't want to get in your car. take me down. I don't want to die early. I have to look after my son and my mom too."

Tay said, "Don't use the word 'die,' and most importantly, I won't let that happen."

New asked, "What won't you let happen?"

Tay said, "I will die instead, but I won't let any harm come to you. You can trust me on that."

New mumbled to himself, "So you're going to leave me too."

Tay didn't hear and asked, "Did you say something?"

New said, "So you're going to leave Nanon?"

Tay said, "I am not leaving anyone." With that, he came close to New and kissed his forehead.

New said, "Who gave you permission to kiss me?"

Tay just said, "Tell me, New."

New began, "Doctor uncle helped me a lot. He transferred to the same village because of me. He came to my home to check on me twice a week. When I had back pain, I had to go to the hospital for check-ups. At first, I didn't eat anything, but after about two months past, I didn't feel sick anymore. However, I had terrible back pain, but it was tolerable. When I was around six months along, I got cramps, and it hurt a lot, so uncle took me to the hospital. I stayed there for a day, and after that, I got better. When I was seven months along, I felt the baby kick for the fast time."

New smiled, remembering those days. "At that time, I thought it might be a new cramp or something."

Tay didn't interrupt; he just listened carefully. New continued, "Then my mom said it was just a kick that all babies do. My mom warned me that I might have mood swings or cravings, feel lonely, or want to be alone. But I didn't pay attention to her. Suddenly, two days later, I felt like eating dragon fruit, which I hated the most. So I didn't touch that food, but at night, I suddenly got so mad at the person who did that to me. I blamed him and myself for getting agree in the first place. I threw things in my room. Mom calmed me down, even I was craving chili pasta. My mom knew I didn't eat chili because it would give me stomach problems, so she made me pasta without chili but placed a chili on top to make it look like chili pasta."
