Gianna's Point Of View

After taking a long hot shower, and slipping into my most comfortable pair of sweatpants ever, I was in the kitchen making brownies from scratch.

I laid on the comfortable couch, cuddled up in one of the blankets that rested along the back. I was deep into my book, currently being on chapter 6 and I just started reading an hour ago.

I heard the door unlock and keys rattle, forcing my attention off my book. I put my bookmark in the book waiting for whoever it was.

The sound of heels clicking against the dark floors got louder as whoever approached, I turned on my side thinking it was just Evangeline or Akeyla coming back because they forgot something.

"Gianna?" Eden's soft voice filled the room as her steps sounded closer.

"Yes?" I asked sitting up, and I could not take my eyes off her for the love of me.

She was dressed in a burgundy turtleneck which she wore gold jewelry over top, black pants, and black Prada heels.

Her dark hair was now straightened and cascaded down her back, her dark eyes scanned over my face as she strode closer, "Why are you still here?" Her head tilted.

"Because I didn't want to ruin your family time," I said forcing my eyes off hers.

"You wouldn't have been," she assured as she now stood over the couch, her tone was sympathetic and full of concern.

I light frown crept up on my face as I recalled Avanna's words, I noticed the sudden change behind her eyes as she grabbed my hands.

"I just want you and your family to enjoy your holiday and not feel like you have to bring me along, I'm not family so it's okay if you guys want to spend family time together," I rambled as she grabbed my chin forcing my eyes on her.

Her dark eyes searched mine, "You are family," she declared. "And Lily and my moms would be very upset if you didn't come," she added.

"No-no, it's fine," I rushed out, "I'm fine," I said even if the feeling in my chest said otherwise.

Her head tilted yet again, "Gianna." She firmly said holding my gaze. There's no way she could read me like a book, so I thought. When her full eyebrows raised and she managed to say, "You feel left out."

It was clear that she knew.

How does she do that?

"It's fine, plus Avanna wants to spend time with just you guys and I promised Lily a surprise," I told her pulling my eyes off hers to trace every feature she had.

"Fuck what she wants, she should've came two days ago," Eden rolled her eyes as her warm hands wrapped around the sides of my neck, sending warmth through me.

"Eden she's your sister," I mumbled, catching the breath that seemed to disappear.

Her mouth opened but before she could get her words out the oven beeped signaling the brownies were ready.

"What did you make?" She said rubbing her thumbs over my neck.

"I made brownies," I said, my voice just lightly above a whisper as I found myself falling into her touch.
