Gianna's Point Of View
The next day whipped by so fast, mainly because I was awaiting Eden's return. For the most part, Lily and I baked, made snowmen, went on the sled, and then while she was taking a nap I read more of my book.
We currently were decorating the gingerbread men we made earlier and enjoying hot chocolate, while the sun set behind us through the large cabin windows, creating a beautiful scene before us.
Christmas music flowed through the house as Akeyla and Evangeline worked on dinner, as for Avanna, she had MIA all day which I didn't care about as long as she stayed away from me.
"This one is for Auntie Eden," Lily said showing me her beautiful cookie.
"Aww sweetheart that's so sweet," I smiled softly.
"And I want to wrap her gift," Lily said lowering her voice.
"Okay," I whispered in the same tone she did causing her to burst into laughter.
"What are you two in here plotting?" Evangeline asked sitting down beside Lily.
"We're gonna wrap lovies gift after we finish our cookies," Lily admitted looking over to her grandmother.
I couldn't help but furrow my eyebrows at Lily's sudden nickname for Eden, "Lovie?" I asked looking over at her.
She nodded her head a few times before saying, "That's what I call her sometimes," her big dark eyes drifted toward me.
"That's so sweet, what did you get her?" The auburn-haired woman asked.
Soft giggles left Lily's mouth, "It's a surprise," she said turning back to her cookie.
"I'll just steal your cookie then," Evangeline said before taking Lily's cookie and heading back to the kitchen.
"Eva leave them alone," Akeyla chuckled, taking the cookie from Evangeline's hands and holding it up to her mouth.
A hum left her mouth after biting into the sweet cookie, "Gianna you have a gift girl, this is so good," she said before handing Evangeline the rest.
A smile grew over my face, "thank you," I said continuing to ice my cookie.
"So on Christmas Eve after Lily goes to sleep, we normally do cocktails and games, does that sound fun?" Akeyla said coming to steal another cookie.
"That sounds amazing," I confirmed placing my freshly ice cookie on the display tray.
"Okay good, dinner will be ready in a few, and Eden should get here around 8," she said before heading back into the kitchen, "what's your favorite cocktail?"
"An expresso martini, I haven't had one in so longgg," I said causing her to gasp.
"You're my kind of girl, and I make the best ones," she said.
"I wouldn't doubt it, but I have had some pretty good ones," I joke sending laughter around us.
"Well we will just have to put it to the test," she joked.
