Eden's Point Of View
"Shit," Gianna's soft voice echoed through the bedroom, immediately waking me.
"What's wrong, baby?" I asked, watching her jump out of bed, tripping over the piles of clothes on the floor.
"I'm late for work," she groaned, tripping her way into the closet, which forced me to grab my phone to see that it was 7:30.
Which meant I was going to be late for my meeting with the Hiltons.
"Dammit!" I muttered, tossing off the covers and jumping out of her warm bed. "I've got a meeting with the Hiltons in 30 minutes!" I exclaimed, rushing to the pile of clothes on the floor and sliding one of Gianna's oversized shirts on.
Gianna poked her head out of the closet, her tired eyes nearly freezing in time." Baby, I'm so sorry—" her voice echoed off the walls. "I didn't know you had a meeting. I wouldn't have kept you if I had known."
I stopped in my tracks, looking up at Gianna, who was nervously biting on her inner cheek. "It's not your fault, baby," I said, softening my tone. "I should have set an alarm. And besides, I wouldn't have wanted to leave your bed anyway," I added with a small smile, trying to lighten the mood.
Relief washed over her face, and a smile crept over it. "Good baby, I'm still sorry, though," she said before heading to the bathroom.
I chuckled and shook my head, grabbing my purse and keys. "Don't be sorry, Gianna; I wanted to stay here with you."
As I turned to leave, I heard the bathroom door close behind Gianna, and I couldn't help but smile. I loved seeing her like this, a little vulnerable and worried about me. It showed that she cared.
When I reached the front door, I grabbed my phone to check the time. I was still running behind, but if I hurried, I could make it to the meeting.
I heard Gianna's voice behind me as I opened the door. "Babe, wait!" she called out.
I turned to see her standing in the bathroom doorway, a towel wrapped around her body and a toothbrush in her hand. "Yes, my love?" I asked.
"Be safe and text me that you made it?" she said, looking at me with concern.
I smiled and nodded. "I will, baby. I promise."
Gianna nodded and went back to brushing her teeth, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for this little moment we shared. It was moments like these that made me realize.
That I was in love with her.
Soon, I was heading home, navigating through the busy residential streets of Miami. After taking the fastest shower of my life and brushing my teeth as quickly as possible, I was dressing myself in a freshly tailored pantsuit.
I stood before my mirror carefully analyzing my outfit for my meeting with the Hiltons. I took a deep breath, mentally preparing myself for this presentation. After spending the weekend cuddling up with Gianna, I seemed to forget about all my responsibilities, especially since I had my phone on Do Not Disturb.
I quickly checked my phone to ensure Valentina had dropped Lily off at school. Seeing the confirmation text, I felt a sense of relief.
