"While your aunt is only on 3 medications that I'm aware of, she, like most of the Alzheimer's patients here, hordes things that don't belong to her and eats them. If a stray pill got into her mouth somehow, that's not on me."

Mitch's mind was reeling as he realized in that moment that he would be taking his Aunt Rose with him for the time being. As soon as he actually got to see her.

"Yes, actually. It legally really is."

The woman stood in a defensive position as she tried her hardest to match the level of intimidation Mitch knew he was, in his anger and frustration, having no problem projecting.

"You have no idea the pressure I'm under, what cuts they've made me instill, that make it impossible to give the level of care that everyone deserves. I know this, but drudge on, because if I didn't care for these patients, most of which never have visitors or even guardians except for the state, who would? You?"

Mitch wasn't falling for the woman's desperate last-attempt pleas to guilt trip and escape the punishment she would be receiving with the so far 5 broken laws he could already spot, considering he'd looked them all up thoroughly beforehand, so as to go in with wisdom.

Knowledge was, after all, the best weapon against evil.

And that's just what Mitch could see she was.

An evil, selfish woman who was obviously taking advantage of her position and the vulnerable people in her care to do what she pleased.

"Lead on. I won't listen to anything else unless it's information about my aunt. I've already decided from this moment on that I'm taking her from this place, and there's nothing you can do or say to stop me."

Looking quickly at Noah's face, he winced at the shocked look. Hopefully he'd be ok with the spur-of-the-moment decision, as he hadn't yet spoken to him about it, and had sprung it on him at the same time as Jessica.

There HAD to be some temporary, nicer place he could take her. Even if it was just long enough to figure out what the next step in her care would be after getting an evaluation. There were many things he'd probably be needing to set up.

He had really not been expecting the place to be as bad as it was, and he knew that as soon as DHS arrived, the place would close, and he would have been asked to find accommodation for her regardless.

His car's smaller interior ran through his mind, and he panicked some at the thought of traveling with an unknown Alzheimer's patient, and an unknown baby. He might have been biting off more than he could chew, but what choice did he have?

They finally turned right at the hallway's end to another corridor that had 4 doors that were the same color beige as the rest of the place, but with patches of dirty areas where people had been touching more than cleaning.

"These are the rooms for the guests with common visitation. She is not in these, considering you're the first visitors she'd had in-"

"I'd prefer the information given on my aunt remain strictly professional. What she's been eating, how has her sleep schedules been, what kind of activities she's been up to during the day."

The woman finally stayed silent as they rounded another corner and found another 4 doors, 2 on either side. They all looked even dirtier than the first set, and he cringed as he heard rustling in the furthest one on the right by the hall's end.

He walked straight to the room as the woman looked surprised that he knew which one.

"I'm gonna bet a million dollars miss Tessa is in there getting the place presentable."
