Melanie, Fred and Ginny were in the kitchen cleaning up after dinner. Before she left Molly prepared some cottage pie for them, knowing she wouldn't get back in time.
After they were finished the whole group plastered themselves on the sofas in the living room.
"Oh I'm so full I don't think I can move." George said as he placed his hand on his stomach.
"I'm not surprised you ate like 3 servings." Ginny remarked.
"Can you blame me after flying all day?"
Ginny just shook her head as she snuggled up into her brothers side.
"So what should we do?" Asked Ron.
"We could play a board game?" Ginny suggested.
"Alright go get it." Fred said.
"But it's so far away.." Ginny replied quietly and the others laughed lightly.
"I have an idea." Fred said and slowly got up massaging his stomach. He disappeared up the stairs and when he came back he was holding Melanie's 'Adventures of Sherlock Holmes'.
"You left it in my room at the end of the year." He explained. He passed the book to Melanie. "Maybe you could read to us?"
Melanie stroked the front of the book and then looked up at the others. "Do you guys want me to?"
"Yes!" Exclaimed Ginny.
"Yeah why not." Shrugged Ron. "But I'm not moving." He added as he spread himself along the entire couch fixing a pillow underneath his head.
"That's fine I wanted to move to the floor anyway." Melanie replied. She walked over to Ron and sat down leaning her back against the edge of the couch.
In an instant Fred joined sitting down next to her. Ginny nudged George and he went over to Melanie as well positioning himself on her other side. Ginny followed nuzzling herself under George's arm.
Melanie smiled at the group as she felt a warm feeling in her heart spark up. She opened up the book and got started on 'The Red Headed League'.
Fred and George followed the page while Melanie read whereas Ginny didn't take her eyes off her. George was gently massaging Ginnys arm.
After a while soft snores could be heard from above the four of them. Ron had fallen asleep and by the looks of it Ginny wasn't too far off from drifting away either.
Melanie turned her face towards Fred and gently whispered. "Freddie?"
"Yes Love."
"Can you grab some blankets?" She asked.
"Yeah, just carry on reading." He replied. He placed a kiss on Melanie's cheek and got up getting 3 blankets.
He wrapped one around Ron and passed the other one to George who covered himself and Ginny. Fred then sat down and pulled Melanie into himself and placed the blanket over her legs and up around his sides.
Melanie sunk back into his chest while he wrapped his arms around her and leaned his cheek on the top of her head. With his thumb he traced lightly along her upper stomach just below her ribcage.
George nudged Ron ever so lightly just to keep him from snoring and Melanie resumed to reading.
A couple minutes later Ginnys eyes closed and she slumped down onto George's lap. He placed his hand on her head and twirled his fingers through her hair.
Fred's chest was rising up and down steadily and she knew he was getting sleepy as well. She looked over to George who had his head resting back on the seat of the sofa.
