Chapter 52

The rest of Melanie's summer went by quickly. She had a great time with Buffy and Dawn in Italy and took loads of pictures to give to Fred when she came back.

In fact Dawn liked it so much that she even wanted to transfer to a boarding school there for the next year. Buffy and Melanie were a bit skeptical at first but when Dawn laid out all the points for why they should let her do that, one of them being the fact that Melanie gets to, the two sisters agreed. After many discussions with the principal who was very aware of who Buffy was, Dawn was granted permission to stay at the school for the remainder of the summer.

Fred wrote to Melanie almost every day and she was always excited to find out what mischief he was getting up to. It sucked that he still couldn't get any of her messages but Melanie still decided to write as she promised she would.

When she got back from Italy she had a lot of work to get done down in Hell. Mainly fluff appearances in front of her court, but also more serious matters to prepare for while she was at Hogwarts during the upcoming year.

Training was also difficult, but with Milo there she enjoyed every last bit of it. Her physique changed drastically and she gained more muscle leaving her body incredibly toned. Her firebending skills improved significantly and Melanie was confident they wouldn't get out of control in any situation.

After a long day Melanie went back home to the penthouse. Milo came around so often that Buffy decided to clean out one of the spare rooms for him so that he could move in permanently.

The three of them were sat on the sofa watching a movie. Buffy with a glass of wine and Melanie and Milo with some popcorn in between each other.

Over the last couple of weeks Melanie's and Milos link grew stronger and they were able to sense each other out in any situation, no matter where they were. All that was left was for Melanie's mark to appear allowing them to communicate telepathically.

Milo was slowly dozing off when suddenly a bright blue light appeared in the middle of the living room. The three of them sprang up instantly. The portal was incredibly small and it only spat out four letters before disappearing again.

Melanie picked them up to find that two of them were for Milo and Buffy. She opened up one of hers.

"Dear Miss Black,

I Hope that your mission at the end of last year went well and that you are ready for the new term at Hogwarts.

I am writing to inform you that this year Hogwarts will be the host of a legendary event, The Triwizard Tournament.

The Triwizard Tournament was first established some seven hundred years ago, as a friendly competition between the three largest European schools of wizardry – Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang. A champion was selected to represent each school, and the three champions competed in three magical tasks. The schools took it in turns to host the Tournament once every five years and it was generally agreed to be the a most excellent way of establishing ties between young witches and wizards of different nationalities.

The delegations from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang will be staying with us for the greater part of the year. I would personally like to ask you and two of your closest allies to take up the role of keepers and companions to each of the chosen three champions. This means that you will not be able to compete yourself however I believe that if you choose to accept this role you will find a thrill in the competition nonetheless.

The Minister Of Magic, Mr Cornelius Fudge, believes that this is a valid precaution Hogwarts should take with the amount of students we will be housing this year.
