It's been over 5 years.
I know time flies so fast, but a lot has actually happened from me and Khalifa going on a pilgrimage, to my two daughters and the most shocking news of all, Zara and Haidar's wedding. I didn't even ship the two, but they started keeping in contact during our wedding. We also recently received the news of Aisha's death from the internet. Khalifa didn't really bother, but he nevertheless attended her burial.
"What are you thinking of mummy, we are late." Noor, my 4 year old snapped her fingers at my face.
"Nothing, let's hurry up. The driver is waiting."
Meanwhile, my 6 year old daughter Tasneem was sashaying her hair in front of the mirror. She gets ready on time just to admire herself in front of the mirror. She gets it from me."Mummy, what do we call the grandchildren of a king? Are they also prince and princess." Tasleem asked while making funny positions in front of the mirror.
"Go ask your dad, and make sure you collect your lunch bag from uwani (one of our maids). You forgot to take it yesterday."
"Okay, mummy." She jumped from my vanity stool. Where tasleem is a talkative, noor is quiet, but she's a mischief. They're practically behave like me except the horse part.
Khalifa made sure these two learned how to ride horses. They like it a lot.
I'm in my second trimester, and Khalifa has been praying to have a boy. He said we are all drama queens."Let's go." Me and noor headed downstairs.
"If you two continue to behave in school, I promise to send you to grandma's house during the holiday."
"And ride horses." Noor jumped on her feet.
"I didn't say that." They both frowned.
"Of course, both my girls would ride horses." Khalifa side eyed me."Whatever." I mouthed to him.
One of the reasons they like going to Zaria is because they get to meet their other cousins and play around.
I pretend like I feel bad when they leave, but honestly, I'm happy. I get to spend time with Khalifa alone. He also likes to send them to Zaria.
I went back to my room to check the mess Tasleem made on my vanity table. She can't bear to see my things arranged on the table. I also can't call the maid just to tidy up the table.
"Who got my wife so worked up." Khalifa hugged me from behind.
"It's tasleem." I muttered under my breath.
I stared straight at the mirror and smiled at how good we looked together with my cute baby bump."Khalifa, I need to go. I'm getting late." I said softly.
"I know." He hugged me tighter.I want to seize this moment and express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you who has taken the time to read my book.
