Florian's pov
ALL THE ELDERS ARGUED IN the meeting room, yelling echoed this stupid ancient room, their walking sticks pounded at the floor over a thousand times, the servants were being rushed to fix coffee, alcohol and tea every other minute.
I looked at Ambrose and a vein traveled up to his forehead as he read the meeting agenda today, a stack of papers from the elders were to be signed for either enforcing rules or banning rules.
"What will we do about winter?! It's coming soon and the kings have yet to marry the fairy!"
"What happens to the local cafes? Why are they slowing down in such a manner?!"
"The school children need extra walking attendants one walking attendants wont keep them safer! I say we enforce carriages for all school children!"
"They have been mining heavily in the mountains! I say it's a disgrace to the land we live on!"
I looked at the stack of papers and pinched the bridge of my nose.
"Are you sure they lost Opal or did he run away somewhere?" Ambrose asked me looking through the papers, a glass was at his side, full to the top with whisky.
I pursed my lips.
Where was Opal? I knew he couldn't be far.. I felt his presence in a way that I didn't have to worry but I still had to be concerned.
The yelling effected my perception of mind reading, I could truly only reach into Opal's and Ambrose mind within a long distance without using a lot of my energy because we are destined mates but with all this noise I couldn't hear a thing he was thinking.
I felt a sudden impact of warmth and comfort fill me and I left out a relieved breath. That feeling must've been from Opal.
"He's somewhere safe, that feeling didn't come out of nowhere." Ambrose muttered, I realized his attitude was much better which made me smile.
"That means the Prophecy is thickening darling, it's becoming stronger to where we feel his feelings, isn't that amazing?" I grabbed his arm.
"It is." He looked at me and pecked my forehead.
"We've got to quiet them, I'm getting a headache." He took a glance at the crowd of elders and I nodded, agreeing.
