Opal's pov

ZEPHERINE WAS AN ABSOLUTE SWEETHEART, he helped with everything I needed help with and my anxiety lessened. What bother me was the dinner, all types of royal officials would join us in the dining hall, kings and queens.

Zeph told me how he and I would be together in our own separate tables with other royals, his best pal Philo would be there and Avalon, the king of... Aquaridge?

I wasn't sure why we had to be separated but I think it was sort of a situation where the more demanding kings were together and the other, docile? Is that a good word to describe the other kings.

Maybe that would be offensive.

I tilted my head and shrugged to myself.

"And what are you pondering on, so?" Constantine asked changing the silks on my body for something a bit shorter, inappropriately cropped if I had to say.

I took a glance in the looking glass and frowned.

"Is royal clothing not modest anymore? Truly I don't want anyone to see my pudgy belly." I turned to the side and pulled at the fat on my lower abdomen.

"That's just happy weight, Opal. You're still as ethereal as before." Salia hugged me catching me off guard.

"Well of course he is ethereal, he's our newly to be king! The prophecy does not pick illy." Constantine grunted before helping me step into laced trousers.

"The dinners here have changed, the goal is always to look better than the other lower demanding kings, it's a way of flaunting and showing them your highest pick." She winked at me and Salia only sighed.

"It's not entirely that, it's to make an impression! Show them you can be just as good, personality wise and physically, so please don't worry about your stomach. It's a sign of wealth and prosperity." Salia bumped hips with me as she styled my hair to the side.

"How's Ambrose and Florian?" I ask as I slide my feet in ballroom wear, they favored ballet slippers which sort of caused my stomach to churn.

I held my side and looked away, feeling a bit green.

"They have been talking to the Mysthaven kings for the longest time, it's rare that they often get to catch up with one another over a glass of whiskey." One of the servants of Mysthaven appeared at my side.

I jumped, holding my heart. "Oh my you frightened me!" I chuckled nervously feeling sweat build up on my forehead.

She bowed and I did the same, awkwardly.
