You knock on the door of the absolute last person you wanted to see. But, hey desperate times call for desperate measures. He opens the door and gives you a once over before starting to close it.
"Zeke please" you say. "Just hear me out for a second."
"You better make this fast" Zeke says opening the door to let you inside.
"Zeke, I know you know about Levi."
"What that he's a dealer who killed some college kid? What about it?"
"I know this is asking a lot coming from me..but I need you to keep that between us. If certain people find out, people are going to get hurt and I can't let that happen."
"People like your boyfriend?"
"Levi's not my boyfriend anymore" you say instinctively putting your hand on your stomach. He may not be your boyfriend, but he is your baby daddy.
"Hang on" Zeke says. "Are you pregnant?"
You know the look on your face is giving it away, even though you refuse to answer. You ignore the question.
"Please, just don't tell Eren."
"Well, you're a little late for that Y/n. You have some nerve coming to me knocked up and asking for a favour. I could laugh in your face right now."
"Well, if he already knows then I'm wasting my time. Goodbye, Zeke."
You turn to go and feel Zeke's hand yank your wrist back towards him. He underestimates his strength and ends up throwing you to the floor with one movement. Your head bounces off the wall and you feel your body shutting down as you lose consciousness. You see Levi's face as blackness fills your vision.
You wake up in a hospital bed feeling different. Your head is spinning, but other than that, something just feels off. Your vision starts to focus and you scan your surroundings. You see Colt in a chair to your left and a female cop on your right. Wait, is that?
"Y/n!" A familiar voice says. It sounded just as it had many years before.
"Ymir" you breathe.
"Y/n, I am so sorry. I responded to the emergency call. I hate to be the one to tell you this..but I've got some bad news."
"Wh-what happened?" You ask afraid to hear the answer.
"Well first, you have a concussion. Zeke smacked your head pretty bad."
That explains a lot.
"After you fell, you landed on your stomach. You miscarried, Y/n. I'm so sorry."
As soon as her words leave her lips, you realize how empty you feel. Both mentally and physically. You and Levi's baby was dead. A baby he wouldn't even admit was his.
"No" you say, your voice breaking. "It's not true, it can't be."
"It's true Y/n, I'm really sorry."
"Can you just hold me?" You ask, your voice breaking.
Ymir doesn't say another word and just wraps her arms around you from her place on your bedside. Ymir's presence soothes you, despite having been apart for so long. She was your first love. She'll always have a special place in your heart.
"Thank you for staying with me" you mumble against her chest.
"Of course, angel. I'll always be here for you" she says and her words somehow may you cry more.
Colt sits in the corner of the room feigning sleep. Lowkey nosy about you and Ymir's emotional reunion, but also not wanting to butt in because it's not his place.
After you finally stop crying, you manage to bring yourself to attempt a normal conversation.
"So, you really did it. You became a cop."
"Of course. Someone's gotta protect the kids from abusive asshole parents like yours."
"You're damn right" you chuckle.
"You with someone?" She asks innocently, not realizing the weight of that question right now.
"I was" you say.
"Oh" she says, not wanting to pry. "I'm sorry."
"What about you, Ymir?"
"I actually met someone really great. Her name is Historia."
"Wow, that's great. I'm really happy for you" you say, meaning it, but also feeling your heart ache a bit at the thought of Ymir settling down. "You deserve the world, Ymir."
"So do you" she says softly. "I'll always love you, you know? Even when it's not in a romantic way."
"I know" you say. "I love you too. I'm sorry I kind of disappeared after everything with my parents. That wasn't fair to you."
"They kicked the shit out of you. I never blamed you for leaving. I'm just glad they're out of your life now. Speaking of toxic people in your life...why were you at Zeke's place?"
You take a deep breath and fill in Ymir on everything. Your relationship with Levi, your untimely reunion with Zeke, finding out about your pregnancy, your breakup, and your desperate plea to Zeke to spare Levi.
"Holy fuck Y/n. How have you been dealing with all this?"
"Long story short is I haven't. It's been hell lately if I'm honest. The only thing helping me was Levi, but now he's gone too."
"He'll come around Y/n, I'm sure of it. No one can just get over you."
"Ha you would know" you chuckle trying to lighten the mood.
"Exactly. Anyway, I have to report to my superior officer. Don't be a stranger though. Here's my new number" she says handing you a small piece of paper. "I'm here for you, always. Goodbye, Y/n."
"Goodbye, Ymir."
Ymir leaves and Colt stays sleeping in the chair across the room. You appreciate his presence. Colt was a really decent guy. He helped get you your job and came through when you needed him most. You were incredibly grateful for him you had no idea how you could even begin to repay him.
You try to sleep but your mind is full. You feel like you've just lost a friend. You never even got to meet your baby before you lost her. You just had a feeling it was a girl. Mother's just know. You find yourself thinking of a life you could have had. You and Levi raising a kid together, getting married and growing old together. The images of what could have been keep flooding your brain and soon the tears are flowing steadily.
Your sobs stir Colt awake and he groggily makes his way over to you to over you a hand to hold. He squeezes your hand lightly and rubs the top of it with his thumb.
"It's going to be okay, Y/n. I promise. Everything's okay."
...
Meanwhile, Levi was getting an earful from Erwin about his predicament.
"I'm telling you man, I believe her. I barely know the girl but I believe her. She loves you man. There's no way she cheated on you."
"How can you be so sure? I had a vasectomy" Levi retorts.
"Did you ever have a follow up appointment to confirm it was actually successful? Sometimes those things can reverse you know."
"Um..actually I didn't. You're supposed to do that?"
"Yes, man! Do you even listen to Hange when she talks! She's given us this anatomy lesson at least 100 times!" Erwin scolds.
"Well, fuck I have to go to the doctor. I may have made a terrible mistake."
