140 AC. Westeros
A/N. I enjoyed writing this one a lot. No pictures, lol. 7k words
Oldtown
Otto Hightower. Formally, a knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Hand of The King twice. And now self-proclaimed King of Oldtown and The Holy Land. The Holy King. Otto The Righteous. He had claimed these titles for all of two years, and now he was losing his position. At first, Otto has enjoyed the fact that the Blues were choosing to focus on Jacaerys' threat due to its urgency. But now that the rest of the country was dealt with. Otto has been getting more and more attention from that of the savage. Slowly but surely, he started to lose his grip on his territory as time went on. Currently, his grace heeded the council of his Lord Hand Larys Strong.
Otto: You are sure?
Larys: My eyes across the narrow seas tell me the prince Jacaerys sails for Kings Landing.
Otto: How long until they get there?
Larys: Very soon, your grace.
Otto: *sighs* Aemond will not be happy.
Larys: My King, I fear we are faced with a tough decision yet again... we can not keep your grandson on milk of the poppy forever. And we can not wake him for the gods only know what he will do in retaliation.
Otto: I am not killing my grandson.
Larys: Of course not, my King. But I worry. For how can we keep him in his current state without him suffering permanent damage to the mind?Otto listened to Larys' words with a sense of resentment. He was about to speak again before a guard entered.
Guard: Pardon the interruption your grace. My lord hand. Prince Aemond has escaped.
Otto: How?
Larys: By whatever means necessary, your grace...
Guard: The man posted outside his door was said to be seen with one of the maids.
Otto: Where is my grandson?"Oh well, look who we have here..." Shani said. Aemond unsheaths his sword once more, and the mystical energy of the blade makes him feel more powerful. Shanis' eyes widen at the valyrian steel. She readjusts her stance before talking.
Shani: Handsome blade... Where'd you steal it from?
Aemond: Get out of my way bastard.
Shani: I'd be happy to take it off your hands for you.
Guard: Up ahead!
Aemond: *turns* Fuck!Aemond moves and stands next to Shani as green men storm the room. They immediately engage once they see the dead knight at their feet. The first night moves to Aemond. Pulling his sword back to deliver a powerful blow. And with his own delivery. Aemond swings Qēlos and the enchanted Valyrian Steel sword breaks the knights blade. The moment Qēlos came into contact with the mundane forged blade, it shattered into pieces, causing Aemond to stumble forward for a moment. Everyone stood still. Aemond looked from his sword to the knight to his sword again. With a swift stab, Aemond pierces right through the metal armor and right our the back like nothing. Unsheathing Qēlos from the knights chest, he is amazed by its efficiency. The rest of the guards draw closer, causing Aemond and Shani to be split up. Aemond backs into a corner and swings his blade, but the guards try and not cross steel with his, for they now know the consequence for such action. Shani stands her ground and does cross blades with the three knights fighting her.
Aemond decides to make the advance and runs a knight through. To then completely rip the sword out of the mans side. Making blood spit out into the air. It's amazing how this sword quite literally cuts through things like a hot knife on butter. A knight attempts to rush him immediately, followed by the other knight behind him. Aemond is pushed back, and Qēlos falls from his hand. The two knights fall on top of him. One dead one is not. Aemond reaches for his sword but almost loses a hand from a knight attempting to stop him from grabbing it. Aemond stands and rolls to evade the swing of the blade, grabbing the mundane sword and crossing blades with the knight in front of him once he stands from his roll.
