Season four-Episode Nine:

Forest of the Dead - Part One.

"Hey! Who turned out the lights?"

"Hey! Who turned out the lights?"

Lynnette clenched her jaw as the darkness encroached closer, snapping their teeth of obliviousness in ravenous hunger as the crew was being cornered like cattle by the walking corpse of Proper Dave. His voice rang out, becoming more hollow and more horrific with each passing second.

Her hand twitched.

The Doctor grabbed it, holding it as tightly as he could. Burning the entire Library down wouldn't end up very well, despite how strong the urge was to do it. They needed another way out.

Luckily, River had it. She lifted her squareness gun once again and fired rapidly, "This way, quickly, move!"

"Hey! Who turned out the lights?"

"You go first," Lynnette demanded as she pushed the Doctor through the hole, eyeing River as she spoke.

"I'm the one with the gun," River huffed.

"I'm the one with the fire," Lynnette murmured, stepping close, surprised to find that her eyes lashed with Rivers with startling ease.

The woman hesitated, words on the tip of her tongue as she looked at Lynnette with an intensity that crashed into her like a storm. Lynnette jerked her head to the side and finally, the woman relented, darting into the hallway she had created, Lynnette following after she blocked the way with a cart.

They sprinted down the hallway, quickly catching up with the others who desperately ran through the wining Library, looking for some way out. The silence seemed to swallow their rapid footsteps, shredding the sounds of their breathing into splinters savagely. Everything seemed like an enemy, snarling and sly, just waiting for their chance to devour.

Lynnette's heart thundered in her chest as she ran to the back of the group, eyes constantly darting between as she tried to keep a watch on all of them. Proper Dave didn't deserve what happened to him and neither did these people. She just hoped their fates wouldn't be the same.

Jutting out from the corner, River directed her gun towards yet another wall and pushed forward into the room she had made an entrance into. Immediately, she assumed the role of leader, shouting commands in an instant, "Ok, we've got a clear spot! In, in, in! Right in the centre, in the middle of the light, quickly! Don't let your shadows cross. Doctor-"
