Season four, episode twelve:

The Stolen Earth - Part One.

Lynette blinked slowly, groaning as she looked across the bleary world around her, only to have her vision distorted by a figure shifting into her view.

"Firefly...?" He whispered softly.

She grumbled as her vision cleared, her eyes landing on the concerned face of the Doctor.

She slumped down as her last moments of consciousness crashed down on her. The face of confusion on Donna, the desperate questions of the Doctor and the two words that were stamped on her heart.

"Is she...?" Lynnette murmured as she forced herself upwards.

The Doctor shrugged, "I don't know. We just landed on Earth. I'm going to find out what's going on, I promise."

Lynnette smiled at him, taking his hand in hers as he helped her stand, "We're going to find out what's going on."

He grinned at her, kissing her knuckles.

"You gave us a right fright, you know?" Donna hummed from beside the doors as she watched for them to approach her. her mind spiralled as she imagined what would be beyond those doors. Would it be fire? Would it be death? Would it be nothingness?

She didn't know. None of them did.

So, they were all baffled when the Doctor flung open the door, expecting some kind of apocalypse, only to find the world as it had been. There was even a milkman driving down the road.

"It's fine," The Doctor spun around, "Everything's fine. Nothing's wrong! It's all fine! 'Scuse me, what day is it?"

The milkman turned to them, brows scrunched up in confusion, "Saturday."

"Saturday. Good. I like Saturdays," The Doctor noddded.

Donna shifted on her heels as she asked, "So I just met Rose Tyler?"

A bullet buried itself into Lynnette's heart, right where Rose's spot still was as she heard the familiar name. Rose Tyler. Rose. Her Rosie. She swallowed down the cry that threatened to rise up her throat with a savage burning.

"Yeah..." The Doctor murmured, clutching Lynnette's hand tighter as they stood, letting the wind wisp over them just like it always did. Not a single thing in sight was wrong. It was just another day.

"But she's locked away in a parallel world," Donna continued.

Lynnette shrugged, "Well, she never did like staying put. It's how we ended up with him."
