A week later
"Zayn, be more careful with her... Dexter is stalking her now," Lerick said while sitting in front of him in Zayn's cabin. Zayn stopped his work on his laptop, shifted his gaze toward Lerick, and said,
"If he dares to lay a hand on her, then he's dead, Lerick!"
His voice was full of rage, and his eyes were burning with anger. Lerick sighed and said, "We should assign some guards for her." Zayn looked at him without any expression and said, "I've already done that since the day Fernandez told me everything."
Lerick looked at him, smiled, and said, "You're so fast, bro." Zayn looked back to his file and replied, "I am — only for her and my family."
Lerick nodded with a smile and asked, "When are you going to tell her about your real identity?"
Hearing that, Zayn sighed and said, "I don't know... I'm afraid. I have no idea how she'll react." Lerick sighed too and said, "Tell her as soon as possible. If she finds out by herself or through someone else, things will get worse." Zayn nodded in understanding and said,
"But I need a little more time."
Lerick nodded and added, "Take your time — just don't be too late." Zayn nodded again.
While they were talking...
"May I?" came a voice from the cabin door.
As soon as Zayn heard the familiar voice, a smile crept onto his face.
"Yes, my lady," he said warmly.
Lerick chuckled and leaned back in his chair. Hearing his voice, Kendra walked in and said, "Stop it, Zayn. What if someone hears you?" Zayn chuckled and smirked.
"I don't care about others."
Kendra sighed and stopped arguing back, then looked at Lerick, who was enjoying their banter, and asked with a smile, "When did you come?"
Lerick sat up straight and said, "Just a moment ago. By the way, is your dear boyfriend behaving well?" Kendra chuckled and answered,
"Of course he is."
Lerick smiled and looked at Zayn, who leaned back in his chair with a proud smile.
"Anyway, I was waiting for you, Ken," Lerick said. Kendra looked at him with a small frown and asked, "What is it?" Lerick smiled and said to both of them, "Come to my house today. I'm treating you both to dinner!"
Zayn and Kendra looked at each other.
"We'll come, right, love?" Zayn asked. Kendra nodded with a smile. Lerick grinned and said,
"So — 7 sharp. I'll be waiting!" He got up and walked out.
Zayn and Kendra smiled at each other.
Once Lerick had left, Zayn stood up, walked toward Kendra, and hugged her from behind. Kendra smiled and asked teasingly,
"Seems like my man is a little romantic today, huh?"
Zayn hummed in response, rested his head on her shoulder, still hugging her, and said, "I'm always romantic, aren't I?" Kendra chuckled and said, "Of course you are." Zayn smiled.
"Last week we were both so busy with our own work. How about we take a day off today?"
Kendra broke the hug and faced him. Zayn raised an eyebrow in confusion. Kendra shook her head and said,
"Not today. We have dinner plans at Lerick's in the evening, remember? I also have a meeting at Walker's Venture, and I planned to finish my pending work this evening. Now with dinner plans, I need to complete it beforehand. So, No."
