13-year-old witch, Eleanor Black, is sitting at the breakfast table with her cousin, Draco Malfoy. As they are eating in silence, Draco's hawk owl, Ulysses, comes flying through the window with the daily prophet. Ellie takes the newspaper from the bird, thanking it by giving it a few treats. She opens the first page to a shock.

SIRIUS BLACK ESCAPED FROM AZKABAN

"Draco, look!" she says, shoving the paper in her cousin's face.

He reads with wide eyes, "Oh no, Ellie." He says, "Don't worry about this. I'm sure they'll find him before we even reach Hogwarts." Draco gets up and gives her a rare hug, which the young Black appreciates.

How did her father, Sirius Black, escape from Azkaban Prison? No one has ever done this before. She keeps looking at the moving picture of her father, nervous. She remembers back to when her Uncle Lucius and Aunt Narcissa told her about him when she first got her Hogwarts letter.

She knows about the twelve muggles he murdered, one of which including her mother. She doesn't know anything about her mother, only that her name was Clare Dubois and she was French. Ellie also knows her father was a Death Eater, only she still cannot understand why; he had a child with a muggle, befriended blood traitors, and was in Gryffindor. Only to become bad in the end anyways.

She also knows a bit about her father's time in Hogwarts. He loved to prank, fool around with his friends, and he hated Slytherin. Eleanore doubts if they meet he'd be very happy that his only daughter is in Slytherin. She looks away from the paper and tries to forget about it. Draco's right. They won't let him be out for long; an Auror will find him and throw him back in Azkaban.

Eleanor shakes Draco awake, "Come on, Dray, we have to get to Hogwarts!" She exclaims. The grey eyed girl is already dressed and her trunk is downstairs, along with her cat, Persephone. Her cousin groans and begrudgingly gets up, hair messy.

The cousins both matured a lot over the summer; Ellie grew a little taller and her hair got longer. Her face looks a lot older, as well. Draco also grew and his voice got deeper. Ellie also convinced him to stop using gel in his hair, saying it'll make him look cooler.

Once Draco finishes getting ready, Narcissa, Eleanor, and Draco all floo to the train station.

"Why couldn't father come?" Draco asks.

"He has important work to attend to at the Ministry." Narcissa says, "He wishes you both the best of luck in school and wants to make sure neither of you get into any trouble."

Eleanor and Draco nod their heads and give Narcissa a hug. Before they can leave Narcissa holds them back; "One more thing," she starts. "I want you both to be extra careful this year. Especially with your father skulking around, Eleanor."

"We will." Eleanor answers for both of them.

"Ellie, I want you to let any comments about your father roll off your back." She continues then points her direction to Draco. "And you, I want you to take care of your cousin."

"Okay, mum." He says.

"I'll miss you, Aunt Cissy." Ellie says, hugging her one more time.

"Let's go, El, I want to find an empty compartment." Draco says, pulling her.

Before Eleanor climbs onto the train she notices a black dog staring right at her. She gets an uneasy feeling, and can't look away from this dog.

"Are you coming?" She hears Draco, which makes her look away. When she looks back, the dog seems to have disappeared.
