Chapter 1, Year 5

"Welcome back, Ellie!" Remus Lupin exclaims as Eleanor Black walks through the cottage doors. She is met with him holding a plate of cookies and a big smile on his face.

Beaming, she took a chocolate chip cookie, "Hey, Moony, I missed you!" Ellie was just in Italy with her friends Theodore Nott, Blaise Zabini, Pansy Parkinson, and her cousin, Draco Malfoy. "Godric, this is a good cookie," she praises after taking a bite.

After telling him all about her trip, he gets a little serious. "I know you love staying here, but we need to move to Order headquarters. Ellie's eyebrows raise, Remus never tells her about the Order of the Phoenix, and now they need to stay over there?

"I know it's hard to hear this after being away for a week, but on the plus side, you'll be able to see your father." He says, making her frowning lips turn up into a smile. Her father, Sirius Black was falsely accused of being a Death Eater and was thrown into Azkaban prison for 12 years. He managed to escape and Eleanor, along with her friends Harry Potter and Hermione Granger, saved him. Now, he's been in hiding. She has been able to see him a few times this Summer, but not enough.

"We're leaving tomorrow, so you better get packing," Remus says. She runs up the stairs to her room and begins packing everything up from her clothes to the pictures on her dresser. When she first got to Lupin Cottage there were two pictures of her and Harry and her as a baby with Remus and Sirius, but now there are many more to her collection. There are a lot of her and her friends, but also one of her boyfriend, Felix Woordcroft. He is the Hufflepuff seeker, and she and him have been writing back and forth all Summer.

She leaves the posters on her wall, knowing she'd be more than willing to come back next Summer. Once she's finished, she goes back downstairs and watches a muggle movie with Remus, one called Labyrinth starring his favorite music artist, David Bowie. Afterwards she helps him cook, then they have dinner in the dining room.

"Could I come back next Summer?" Ellie asks.

"Of course, I'd be more than happy to have you." Remus smiles, "I'm glad my...condition hasn't pushed you away." Yes, he is a werewolf, and yes, he transforms every full moon. However, Ellie has learned how to brew the wolfsbane potion (with help from Remus himself), and she is willing to make it for him every month.

After dinner they have more cookies for dessert, and then Remus tells Ellie that she should go to bed early, since they are leaving for headquarters early in the morning. Instead of going to bed early, she reads a couple of chapters of the book she's reading, and then she notices Felix's owl, Azor, in the window.

She quickly goes to open the window to let the owl in, and hands him a couple treats.

Dear Eleanor,

I know you're supposed to be getting home tomorrow, so hopefully Azor gets to you by that time. I hope you had a great time in Italy, and I wanted to let you know I am incredibly jealous. I also wanted to tell you that I miss you a lot and I can't wait to see you again.

You may not want to hear this, but I am on Ron's side. If you had stolen my Chudley Cannons poster I would probably ignore you for a bit as well. My mother has been nagging me about when they are going to meet you, probably because I talk about you so much.

And yes, I've been practicing Quidditch non stop this Summer, last year we didn't have any practice or anything so I am a bit rusty. Hopefully I have you wearing my Quidditch sweater cheering me on this year, besides of course when we beat- I mean go against Slytherin.

Please write back soon, and tell Ron I said hi.

Ellie smiles while reading her letter, but she decides to leave writing him back tomorrow after they move. "By the way, the next time Felix sends me a letter, I won't be here. I'll be at 12 Grimmauld place," she tells Azor before he flies out of the window.
