The kids and Kolby were keeping Sera busy. The daughter of Hestia had been busy with a project she was doing at camp. Peter knew she had been overworking herself and didn't want to stop her as it was for the children, but she was getting exhausted and he wanted her to have a break.
He was outside on the back porch planning everything out. He gathered chopped wood and walked out to where the fire pit was and laid it in the fire pit. He was about to light it only it lit itself. "Thank you Lady Hestia," he whispered. The fire had been the deep red feel good fire Sera had shown Malia and Cora to try to get them to understand fire colors.
He quickly went in and grabbed the snacks, making sure to add marshmallows and chocolate and graham crackers before running back for the hot chocolate. He wouldn't dare put coffee as an option, the woman didn't need it right now.
He sat everything on display. He set up blankets and pillows and set them on the patio furniture. Going back in, he found Seraphina coloring with the children. They had figured out how to make it a game where the children played a mini game in order to win a color to play with. It helped them be able to switch their minds between two different things as Sera and Peter thought it would be good for Cora and Malia to be able to do that too. Peter snuck in and aimed one of the toy balls at one of them. Stiles reached up and caught it while he was participating in the mini game.
"Would you join me?" Peter asked Sera who looked up in surprise. The children continued their game while Kolby watched while grinning at his daughter who just realized she was set up to be distracted while Peter set something up.
She went out and saw the set up and gasped. "You've been busy and overworking yourself. It's time for a break," Peter told her.
The two sat and curled up in the blanket as they toasted marshmallows.
"So what is that you were doing and do you need help?"
"I wanted to set up rooms for the demigods with no siblings or a cabin," Sera revealed, putting a marshmallow on top of her chocolate.
"So like you and Crystal but Dionysus doesn't like them?" Peter asked.
Sera nodded, taking a bite a moaning and blushing once sh saw Peter's stare.
"Okay, kids bed time!" they hear inside.
"AW!" the kids whine.
"Go bug Adira!" Peter shouts.
Kolby apparently got Peter's hint at the words as he quickly gathered the children and got them out of the house. Briefly they hear Stiles yell out, "MALIA GETS A SIBLING!" making Seraphina blush again.
"So those rooms?" Peter asked.
"Right, right," Sera spoke up getting out of the thoughts growing in her head, "Crystal and I got to decorate areas of Dionysus' cabin for ourselves. My section was a warm and cozy area while Crystal hung up snowflakes and her section would be a bit colder than the rest of the cabin. Something like that. Like if Nemesis had a child there it may be a bit basic but filled with things that would make them think. Apollo and Athena cabins have those, but her children need logic sort of puzzles, something to make them think about both sides. Crystal can have a room where she doesn't have to keep only a section of a cabin cold, she can have a whole room. Hecate children can rooms for magic casting. Stuff like that. Being cramped into the Hermes cabin gives them no space and I want them to have space and the Big House is big enough to do that," Sera ranted.
"But you don't know their parents," Peter pointed out.
"Actually," Sera started, "You know when Dad and I got called away along with Adira and Bobby?"
"Yeah."
"So Zeus had summoned us because he wanted more safe houses set up for quests and stuff or if demigods were just out in the mortal world. Adira's house and this house are already considered safe places, but he wanted more outside of California. He had also called the minor gods there because he wanted something for their kids because apparently Hermes has complained enough. So if they have more than two children arrive they can build a cabin for them. If not, they get a room in the Big House. That was also why he wanted the safe houses because if there is an attack or like Stiles where they don't have the ebst home life, they can go there," Sera explained, "I wanted to be the one to help decorate the rooms and give advice about the safe houses."
Peter looked at her in awe. "What?" she asked.
"You are amazing," he bluntly said.
She blushed again, but didn't break eye contact with him. Slowly they got closer...and because the author likes to rob her readers sometimes, let's just say Kolby was glad he took the kids out.
