The soft singing of the birds disturbed the peaceful sleep of Karishma, she squinted adjusting to the light, she smiled finding Haseena close to her who held her delicately, her mouth a little ajar, her hair flying everywhere, she loves this laid-back Haseena. The Haseena she sees every day is always active, constant movement is what she seeks, a force of nature, her movements graceful yet powerful but this Haseena is only seen on rare occasions and Karishma tressures both.
Chuckling Karishma pecked her nose, "Good morning sleepy head" Karishma nudged Haseena
Haseena stirred in sleep pulling her closer, Karishma smiled resting her head back on Haseena's shoulder, after a few minutes Haseena finally opened her eyes, she squinted looking around until she found Karishma staring at her, Haseena glared at the sun for violating their private moment. Karishma lifts her hand blocking the rays falling on Haseena's face.
"Now this is what I call a good morning" Haseena kissed Karishma's forehead, "How are you feeling?"
"Like my head is going to burst anytime soon" Karishma sighed playing with Haseena's fingers.
"I think you had some sugars, which spiked up the alcohol in your system"
"It's your fault!" Karishma pouted
"Mine?" Haseena frowned
"Aur nehi tho kya! You should have kept an eye on me" Karishma irked
"Hahah! Yes, I should have," Haseena chuckled, "I thought my Karishma was old enough to take care of herself"
Karishma's heart fluttered hearing 'my Karishma' from Haseena and how easily she accepted that it was her mistake even though when it was not. People tend to get defensive even if they were wrong and accepting that it's their mistake without their fault is rare to see and here is Haseena taking the blame without a second thought, Karishma is sure if any other person is present here instead of Haseena, they would be ranting how she had ruined their night or have taken advantage of her state. Karishma internally chuckled at the thought, she would never allow anyone other than Haseena to be this close to her.
"I don't know why I always end up getting high when I drink with you," Karishma said coming out of her thoughts.
Blush crept on Haseena's cheeks as she remembered the previous night's confession of Karishma, her heart still swelled with a concoction of emotion at the reminisces of that moment but she wanted Karishma to acknowledge it consciously not in a stupor of alcohol but she also knows that she has to wait longer for Karishma come in terms with that.
"Hope we'll find out soon" Haseena smiled.
"And I am sorry if I caused you any distress yesterday. I know that I zone out a lot when I am high but yesterday feels like it went way over" Karishma said embarrassed, stealing glances from Haseena.
"Distress, I am not very sure, but you did bring immense joy" Haseena smiled.
"Thank you" Karishma pecked her cheek, as she was about to move down from the bed, she felt a tug at her hand, Karishma frowned as her scarf was tied around both of their hands
"What's all this?" Karishma's frown deepened
"I told you I fell for you and you tied it so that you can catch me if I fall the next time" Haseena chuckled.
"I think I am too high, coz I can't even recall anything, not even glimpses" Karishma rubbed her forehead embarrassed.
"No problem, I can sum up the night for you," Haseena said as she sat beside Karishma untying the knots, "you were and are adorable" Haseena pecked her temple.
