2(35). A Case

Haseena is in her cabin, deep in thought about Karishma's changed behaviour in the last two days. She went over the day where they spent with laughter over and over again but she couldn't find anything which would ruin Karishma's mood, but Karishma's fake smile and indifference to Haseena's questions made her anxious.

Shaking her head Haseena went back to the pile of files before her which she had to submit as soon as possible to the headquarters.

"May I come in Madam Sir" Aira knocked on her door, Haseena nodded yes

"Jai hind madam sir, a woman is here to meet you," Aira said

"Okay," Haseena frowned, "bring her inside"

"Ji, madam sir"

A woman in her late 50s entered the cabin with Pushpa Ji and Aira

"Namaste, Ma'am, please have a seat" Haseena offered her a seat

"Thank you, madam," the woman sat, Pushpa Ji and Aira stood by the table waiting for the woman to tell her problem.

"Madam, my name is Anuradha Joshi, my son-in-law is missing. Please find him" Anuradha pleaded.

"Ji, sure. Hum apka FIR darj karenge, par aap vistar mei batayiye kya huva hei aur wo kab se gayab hei?" Haseena asked

"Madam, my son's name is Dhanunjay Joshi, his husband, my son-in-law's name is Punit Jha, and they have been in a relationship for the last 3 years. One year back they decided to tie the knot. I have only Dhanu in my life, his father died 10 years back, it took me a minute to understand and accept this but I am happy to get another son, Punit is a sweetheart, he cares for me like his own. Punit's parents are against this relationship, his father is a politician and broke ties with Punit,"

"It took time but Punit slowly came out of it, we have been living together since then. Two weeks from now, Punit had been a little off, when I asked, he said it was just office tensions. Three days back he went on an office trip, but for the last two days his phone is not reachable, when I talked to Dhanu, he said Punit went to a hill station so maybe his network is not working. But I suspect something, madam, Punit will inform me beforehand if there is something like that. My heart is telling me that there is something wrong, and also Punit's father has a lot of connections, what if he decided to act? Please find my son" She folded her hands.

"Arey mam, ap nishchint rahiye. We are going to find him soon. Aap please apne details Pushpa Ji ko dijiye aur ghar jayiye, hume jaisi hi kuch pata chalta hei hum apko inform karenge" Haseena nodded.

"Ji" Anuradha went with Pushpa Ji

"What do you think Aira?" Haseena asked Aira who was standing beside her

"Maybe her son is right, Madam sir, network issues are very common in hill stations" Aira shrugged

"I don't think it's the reason," Haseena stood up and started moving around the room, "they are on an office trip, so they need the network for work, it can't be the reason. Maybe Punit's father may have done something. Try to find out who is his father and his recent activities. Also, before that once call Punit's office and collect the details of the place he went and any issues there,"

"Okay Madam Sir" Aira was about to go when Haseena called her back

"And also keep an eye on Dhananjay Joshi. He is kind of aloof about Punit's missing"

"Ji" Aira saluted and left

"Shit!" Haseena slapped her forehead seeing the time and swiftly moved out of her cabin informing Pushpa Ji
