The night before:
Haseena roamed in their room; she entered the room only after being sure Karishma left for the library to sleep. Yesterday night they shared a room after a long time, but Haseena insisted on sleeping on the balcony not to make Karishma uncomfortable, luckily the bed they put came to good use. And today there is no one in the house to adjust so they are back to their previous arrangement.
"It's all because of me" she murmured.
Karishma's revelation tonight has scratched all her open wounds, guilt weighed heavily on her. She sat on the edge on the bed feeling a little suffocated, she fanned herself as the sweat drops appeared on her forehead. She closed her eyes focusing on her breathing, she knew she have her pills if things go wrong but she doesn't want to rely on them too soon.
After a while she felt better, she sighed resting on the bed her legs dangling down, and she closed her eyes wiping off the sweat. As she slipped into sleep, flashes of blood appeared, a lot of people lying dead in pools of blood, Haseena shooting others, bullets whizzing by, Haseena in a pool of blood her body punctured with bullets and boom! A big fire engulfed her.
"No!"
Haseena woke up with a jerk, she stood looking around the room to believe that she is safe and away from all that. But the suffocation returned, bigger than ever, she kneeled on the ground trying to gulp air, trying erratically send signals to her brain that she is safe while her brain is adamant that she would die anytime.
Karishma sighed staring at the ceiling, like yesterday night she wants to sleep in their room, for the first time ever her 4-hour sleep felt more relaxing due to Haseena's presence, but if they started using the same bedroom it wouldn't take Haseena a lot of time to know about her insomnia and that's the only reason, she allowed Haseena to sleep in the balcony and it's also true that she spent a solid 2 hours swooning over Haseena in sleep.
Karishma sat getting tired of waiting for sleep, "argh! Why does this have to be this hard" She roamed in the library for a while
Hearing a thud, she glanced out into the corridor, fearing Arshad might have fallen off the bed, she swiftly moved to his room but found him sleeping peacefully. She frowned and walked towards their room but what she found inside froze her in her tracks.
"Haseena!" she dashed into the room.
"What happened?" Karishma pulled Haseena in a hug caressing her back, Haseena's shivering hands pointed to the night table, it didn't much time for Karishma to pull out the tablets Haseena used the last she used in presence of Karishma.
When Haseena's condition got better, Karishma helped her onto the bed and slept beside Haseena, hugging her, Haseena too weak to argue slept keeping her head on Karishma's torso. Karishma's tears glided down from the side of her eyes looking at Haseena.
"I should have lied to you," Karishma whispered, "it's my fault that you are having these attacks" Karishma held Haseena's shivering body close.
"You are having a lot of them, right?" she looked at Haseena who is in deep sleep now, by the look of the tablets remaining, it's not hard for her to understand that Haseena has been taking them a lot.
"I thought some space and time would help us deal with our demons, help us understand our mistakes and problems but it only prolonged our pain" she sighed and kissed Haseena's forehead, "now, no more. Good night, sweetness"
