Karishma woke up with a start, she looked around in a daze and finally sighed laying back on the bed, finding herself in her room, her T-shirt clung to her soaked in sweat, she patted her cheeks to wake herself up from the horrid dream, finding traces of tears she closed her eyes trying to forget the morbid nightmare. Not able to push the ghostly image out of her mind she went to the bathroom hoping that a hot water shower may help in washing away the dream.
Karishma entered her cabin confused and frustrated. The board meeting has just got concluded leaving Abdul and Karishma unhinged. Abdul followed by Viraj and Meha entered the cabin only to find Karishma staring out the window.
"Karishma" Abdul said taking a seat at the table
Karishma just nodded to acknowledge their presence but neither turned back nor said anything
"This is a very big challenge thrown at us by Aditi, she had the members under her influence. We don't have any option than to excel in that" Abdul sighed
"What happened?" Viraj asked, curious to know the happenings of the meetings as he doesn't qualify to attend them unless necessary
"Well, we thought that Aditi would challenge Karishma to complete the Stalin project but it seems that woman played a wild card, believe me, that woman is more notorious and cunning than anyone we could ever encounter" Abdul sighed turning to Karishma momentarily before continuing, "have you heard about Ms. Sirisha Agastya from Agastya industries?"
"Yes, the Agastya Industries are one of the leading companies in the southern part of India and Ms Sirisha Agastya is the third generation CEO taking the company to new heights, known for her sharp and arrogant behaviour but respected for her valorous risk-taking and excellent business tactics. What about her?"
"Well, Agastya industries are planning to expand their borders to east of the of the country. They are planning on opening a group of resorts and the news is they are actively looking for partnerships in running them. Now Aditi challenged Karishma to bag the partnership, Karishma needed to achieve this as the chairperson, if not her capabilities would be doubted and we cannot afford to lose the board members' confidence in us"
"When is the meeting?" Karishma spoke for the first time since they arrived
"2 weeks later" Abdul looked at Karishma's reflection on the glass wall, her face void of any emotions
"Hmm... Meha Ji, get all the information on Agastya industries, on Ms Agastya and everything related to opening the resorts in the east, their tourism status, climatic conditions, past business trends, everything we can get our hands on. I'll be here sharp at 9 and I need everything by then"
"Sure Karishma" Meha left the office
Nodding at both of them Karishma also left the office.
"What are you thinking sir?" Viraj asked Abdul who was staring intently at the fading figure of Karishma
"She is finally taking proper charge I just hope she understands her full potential and decides to take this position permanently"
"Do you think she can do it?"
"I do not doubt it. If anyone can that would be her! She has this determination like her father, she'll never back down before winning"
"This is the first time she is working on something like this, she is still inexperienced and that too before someone like Ms Agastya. Karishma needs to pull out everything she has" Viraj put forward his concerns
