Author's Note

Before you begin, I want to gently warn you that this chapter explores sensitive themes, including trauma, panic attacks, emotional abuse, and manipulation.

None of these moments are written to romanticize suffering. They are a part of Shivani's journey-one that reflects the lasting impact of trauma and the strength it takes to survive it.

Please read at your own pace, and if you ever feel overwhelmed, don't hesitate to take a break. Your well-being matters more than any story.

Thank you for being here and for holding Shivani's hand through one of the darkest chapters of her life.

Author's POV:

She hurriedly untied the ropes around Shivani's ankles.

"There's a service corridor behind the eastern wing."

"It leads outside."

"Don't stop."

"Don't look back."

"Just run."

Shivani remained frozen.

Shelly grabbed her hand.

"Move!"

Just as Shivani took her first step-

A slow clap echoed from the doorway.

Once.

Twice.

Three times.

Both women froze.

The blood drained from Shelly's face.

A familiar voice filled the room.

"That..."

A shiver ran down Shelly's spine.

"...was disappointing sister."

"I sent you to help Shivani..."

A slow, chilling smile spread across Rudra's face.

"...to get her ready."

His expression turned cold in an instant, every trace of emotion disappearing.

"...not to help her escape."

His voice was quiet, but far more terrifying than a scream.

Step by step, he advanced toward Shelly.

She instinctively backed away until her back slammed against the wall.

"Bhai... no......you are getting it wrong."

"yes?"

His eyes darkened with fury.

"You were helping my bride escape!"

"No..,.."

"ENOUGH WITH THE ACT!" he roared.

The room echoed with his voice.

Shelly flinched as he grabbed her by the shoulders and violently shoved her against the wall.

"I warned you before..." he hissed, leaning dangerously close. "Whoever comes between me and Shivani... becomes my enemy."

While Rudra's attention remained fixed on Shelly, Shivani quietly took a step backward.

Then another.

Her trembling fingers found the handle of the back door.

Neither of them noticed.

"...and I won't hesitate to get rid of them."
