3rd person pov:
Russia’s progress in flying had been steady, each session showing improvement. His determination and resilience were evident, and his siblings watched in awe as he took to the sky with increasing confidence. Soviet, always stern and demanding, began to show signs of satisfaction and even pride.
One crisp, clear afternoon, Russia finally managed to maintain a stable flight for an extended period. His wings beat rhythmically, lifting him higher and higher. He soared above the treetops, the wind rushing past him, the ground a distant memory. For the first time in months, he felt free.
As he landed gracefully, his wings folding behind him, Soviet approached with a rare smile. "Well done, Russia. You’ve made significant progress. I'm proud of you."
Russia beamed, his heart swelling with pride and relief. "Thank you, Father. I couldn’t have done it without your guidance."
Soviet nodded, placing a hand on his son's shoulder. "You've worked hard. Now, let's head back inside. It’s getting cold."
That night, the temperature dropped significantly, and the house was filled with the comforting crackle of the furnace. The siblings gathered around it, seeking warmth and solace.
Russia then decided to prepare something for them. He brewed a pot of hot tea, the aroma filling the kitchen. As he carried the tray to the living room, he saw Soviet standing in the doorway, watching over his children with a quiet intensity.
"Father, why don’t you join us?" Russia suggested, his voice hopeful.
Soviet shook his head, his expression unreadable. "I have work to do."
"Please, Father," Russia pleaded, stepping closer. "We would all love to have you with us. Just for a little while."
Soviet hesitated, the warmth of the furnace contrasting sharply with the coldness outside. He looked at his son, seeing the earnestness in his eyes, and sighed. "Alright, but just for a little while."
A smile spread across Russia’s face as he led his father to the cozy circle by the furnace. The siblings made room for Soviet, their faces lighting up with joy. Russia handed out the cups of tea, the warmth spreading through their hands and into their hearts.
As they settled down, the atmosphere was filled with a rare sense of unity and peace. Soviet, despite his initial reluctance, found himself relaxing in the warmth of the family gathering. He sat close to Russia, the flickering fire casting soft shadows on their faces.
Russia, feeling a surge of affection and gratitude, gently wrapped his wings around his father and siblings. The gesture was tender and protective, a symbol of the bond they shared. Soviet, momentarily taken aback, placed a hand on Russia’s waist, pulling him closer.
"Thank you, Father," Russia whispered, his voice filled with emotion.
Soviet nodded, his grip firm but gentle. "You’ve done well, Russia. You all have."
The siblings snuggled closer, their bodies warmed by the fire and each other’s presence. Ukraine nestled against Russia, his small hands clutching his shirt. Kazakhstan, too leaned in, feeling the strength and love radiating from him.
Russia looked around at his family, his heart swelling with a mixture of pride, relief, and love. Despite the hardships they had faced, they were together, and in this moment, that was all that mattered.
As the night grew colder outside, the warmth inside the house seemed to grow stronger. They talked and laughed. Soviet, usually reserved, found himself smiling more often, his stern exterior softened by the presence of his family.
For the first time in a long while, Russia felt a deep sense of peace. The trauma and pain of the past were still there, but in this moment, surrounded by his loved ones, he felt hopeful. The future was uncertain, but as long as they were together, he believed they could face anything.
As the evening progressed, the younger siblings laughed, their faces lighting up with joy as they recalled the shared adventures and mischief. Russia felt a deep sense of belonging and happiness, his heart filling with warmth as he listened to his siblings' stories.
Soviet, usually reserved, found himself drawn into the conversation. "Those were good times," he admitted, his voice softer than usual. "It's important to hold onto those memories."
Russia looked at his father, gratitude and affection evident in his eyes. "Thank you, Father, for being here with us. It means a lot."
Soviet nodded, his expression unreadable but his presence comforting. "Family is important. We must cherish these moments."
The night wore on, and the warmth of the fire and the love of family wrapped around them like a cozy blanket. Russia felt a deep sense of contentment, knowing that despite the hardships and pain they had endured, they were together, and that was what mattered most.
As the fire burned low, the siblings began to doze off one by one, their heads resting on each other’s shoulders. Moldova was the first to fall asleep, his small body curled up against Russia’s side. Kazakhstan soon followed, his head resting on Russia’s shoulder.
Soviet looked at his children, his expression softening with a rare tenderness. "You’ve done well, Russia. You’ve brought us all together."
Russia smiled, his heart filled with a profound sense of gratitude and love. "Thank you, Father. I couldn’t have done it without you."
Soviet placed a hand on Russia’s shoulder, his grip firm but gentle. "Rest now, my son. You deserve it."
Russia nodded, his eyes heavy with sleep but his heart light with happiness. As he drifted off, he felt the comforting presence of his family around him, their love and warmth enveloping him like a protective cocoon.
The night was peaceful, the house filled with the soft sounds of breathing and the crackling of the fire. And in that moment, Russia knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would face them together, as a family.
