After years-The fallout from the Chernobyl disaster had plunged the family into a state of constant distress. The radiation sickness affected Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, but Ukraine was hit the hardest. The once vibrant and lively household was now marred by illness and fear. Soviet's anger, always a simmering undercurrent, flared uncontrollably, often resulting in violent outbursts.

Ukraine lay frail and weakened in his bed, barely able to breathe. Soviet’s rage at the worsening conditions boiled over one evening. He stormed into Ukraine’s room, his face contorted in anger. “Why is he still like this?” he demanded, his voice echoing harshly.

Russia stepped forward, his own condition precarious but determined. “He’s trying his best,” he said, his voice strained but firm. “He just needs more time.”

Soviet’s eyes blazed with fury. “Time? Time is a luxury we don’t have!” Without warning, Soviet lunged at Ukraine, his hand poised to strike. Russia immediately moved to shield his brother, but Soviet’s fist struck him instead, sending him crashing to the floor.

“Move aside!” Soviet shouted, his voice a thunderous roar. Russia, despite the pain, remained firm, trying to protect Ukraine.

“Please, Father,” Russia pleaded, wincing as he spoke. “He’s suffering enough.”

Soviet’s rage only intensified. He stormed out, leaving Russia to tend to Ukraine, his body trembling from the impact and fear.

Days had passed, and the radiation continued its toll. Belarus and Kazakhstan, though not as severely affected as Ukraine, were also struggling. Soviet's volatile temper made their suffering even worse. He directed his fury towards anyone who showed weakness, including Russia, who took the brunt of his father’s wrath.

One evening, Soviet found Kazakhstan gasping for breath, his lungs compromised by the radiation. His anger flared, and he advanced on the boy, his hand raised menacingly.

“Stop!” Russia intervened, stepping between Soviet and Kazakhstan. “He’s already suffering. He can’t handle more.”

Soviet’s eyes blazed with anger. “You all are weak!” he shouted, grabbing Russia by the collar and shaking him. “You’re all failing me!”

Russia felt Soviet’s grip tighten painfully. Despite the agony, he tried to reason with his father. “We’re doing everything we can, just please give us a chance "

Soviet then stormed out, russ struggled to his feet, his body aching from the blow. He glanced at the two, their faces etched with fear and sadness.

Days turned to weeks, this harrowing night, Soviet found Ukraine in a really bad state. His breath came in shallow, ragged gasps, his body trembling with effort to stay alive. RSFSR sat by his little brother's side, his own condition worsening but his concern for his brother overriding his pain.
