3rd person pov:

For the first few days after returning home, China spent a considerable amount of time with Russ, ensuring he felt secure and cared for. Each day, China was a constant presence, always attentive to Russ's needs, and ready to help whenever Russ stumbled or felt weak. Despite the exhaustion that still clung to Russ, China’s support made a tangible difference.

Russ, despite his frailty, was determined to maintain some semblance of normalcy. He continued to cook meals and tend to his home, with his loyal cats never far from his side. They would curl up around him, purring softly as he moved about, their companionship a small but meaningful comfort. The first three days of China’s stay passed with a sense of relative peace and normalcy, providing Russ with a reprieve from the intensity of his recent experiences.

China observed Russ with a mixture of concern and affection. Whenever Russ seemed unsteady, China was there to steady him, offering a reassuring hand or catching him if he stumbled. Despite China’s best efforts, Russ was still visibly drained, a shadow of the vibrant person he used to be. This weariness was not just physical; it was emotional and psychological, a reflection of the traumas he had endured.

In the quiet moments when Russ was alone, he would occasionally inspect his scars. These marks, reminders of his painful past, were a stark contrast to the peace he sought. Sometimes he wondered if they were remnants of the torment inflicted by the Third Reich, or the harshness of his father, Soviet. Other times, he thought about Ame's cruel treatment. The scars were a dissonant mixture of suffering, and Russ could not always untangle their origins. He had never shared the full extent of his past with China—his experiences with the Third Reich and Soviet remained unspoken—but China was now aware of Ame's abuse and knew about Russ's white wings. For now, there was no need for Russ to cover them, as China was fully aware of their significance.

One afternoon, as Russ was preparing a simple meal, he suddenly collapsed. The unexpected fall caught him off guard, and he crumpled to the floor. China, ever vigilant, was right there. With quick reflexes, he was at Russ’s side in an instant, his concern palpable. He gently lifted Russ into his arms, his strong and comforting presence a stark contrast to the frailty of Russ’s form. The cats, alarmed by the commotion, followed closely, their anxious meows adding to the scene.

China carried Russ to his room with the utmost care, making sure not to jostle him. He gently laid Russ down on the bed, his cats hopping up to curl around him, providing their usual comforting presence. China pulled the covers around Russ, tucking him in carefully, and sat down beside him.

As Russ drifted off to sleep, China watched over him, his heart heavy with a mix of emotions. The growing affection he felt for Russ was undeniable, and it was becoming increasingly difficult for him to ignore. He cared deeply for Russ, and each act of care and tenderness only served to deepen his feelings. Watching Russ sleep, China’s thoughts were filled with a blend of worry and longing. He couldn’t help but wonder how long it would take for Russ to heal fully and how he could help ease the burden of his past.

The peaceful, yet poignant moment between them was a testament to the quiet strength of China’s emotions. As Russ slept, China remained at his side, offering silent support and grappling with the complexities of his feelings. Despite the pain Russ had endured, China was determined to be a steadfast presence, hoping that his care and companionship would provide some measure of solace and healing.

With ame:

Ame sat in his dimly lit living room, the haze of cigarette smoke curling around him as he exhaled. The room was cloaked in a heavy, grayish gloom, the kind that seemed to seep into the walls and cling to the furniture. He was lounging in an old, worn armchair, the familiar weight of the cigarette between his fingers a small comfort. Canada was seated across from him on the couch, also with a cigarette in hand, the two of them sharing an uneasy silence.

The topic of conversation drifted to Russ, who had managed to escape from Ame’s clutches. Canada’s tone was laced with mockery, his words dripping with an unearned superiority.

“You know, Russ managed to get away,” Canada said with a smirk, exhaling a cloud of smoke. “It seems he found a way to escape your charming hospitality.”

Ame’s eyes narrowed, his glare piercing through the haze of smoke. His frustration was evident, but it was accompanied by an undercurrent of grim satisfaction. “And what? You think that’s something to laugh about?”

Canada shrugged nonchalantly, his attention shifting to his phone. Just then, a notification popped up from Ukraine. The message read, 'Can’t wait to catch up with you.' Canada rolled his eyes, his annoyance barely masked. He glanced at Ame, who was watching him with an intrigued smirk.

“More love from Ukraine,” Canada muttered, his voice dripping with disdain. “Can’t wait for him to annoy me with his endless chatter.”

Ame’s smirk widened. “I see you’re not too thrilled with your own situation.”

Canada’s eyes flashed with irritation. “Don’t get too smug. I’m just not in the mood for him. He’s more trouble than he’s worth.”

Ame’s mood was a mix of resentment and dark amusement. Even though he was displeased that Russ had slipped away from his grasp, he couldn’t help but feel a twisted sense of satisfaction. He had pushed Russ to his limits, and while it was clear that his actions had caused Russ to flee, Ame was undeterred. The thought of Russ being his—completely and utterly—remained a consuming obsession. It was a matter of ownership and control, something Ame was not willing to relinquish easily.

He leaned back in his chair, taking another drag of his cigarette, letting the smoke drift lazily around him. His thoughts were a tangled mess of anger and desire, each fueling the other. Russ had gotten away, but that didn’t mean Ame had given up. The idea of Russ being out there, free from his control, only spurred Ame’s determination to reclaim him. In his mind, Russ belonged to him, and Ame wasn’t prepared to let go.

Canada, noticing Ame’s dark mood, smirked. “Looks like you’re still pretty invested in Russ.”

Ame’s gaze remained fixed, his eyes cold and unyielding. “He’s mine. He was never meant to leave, and I intend to make sure he understands that.”

Canada shook his head, clearly uninterested in pursuing the matter further. He stubbed out his cigarette and began scrolling through his phone, his mind already shifting to his own concerns.

Ame continued to brood, his mind fixated on Russ. The sense of possessiveness was overpowering, eclipsing any other emotions he might have felt. Despite the upheaval and the escape, the thought of Russ being his, completely and unequivocally, was the only thing that mattered to him. His fixation on Russ remained unshaken, even in the face of Canada’s indifferent dismissal of his own problems.
