Russia opened the door, and for a brief moment, he looked surprised. His dark blue eyes widened slightly at the sight of China standing there, a bouquet of white lilies and forget-me-nots in hand, and a warm, gentle smile on his face.

"China…" Russia began softly, his eyes flicking to the flowers. He wasn’t used to such gestures, and the sight of the delicate blooms made his heart flutter in a way that was both unfamiliar and comforting.

“These are for you,” China said, holding out the bouquet. “I thought you might like them.”

Russia hesitated for a moment before taking the flowers, his fingers brushing against China’s. The touch sent a small shiver up his spine, but it was a pleasant sensation, one that made him feel safe.

“They’re beautiful… Thank you,” Russia replied, his voice barely above a whisper. He brought the flowers to his nose, inhaling their sweet, subtle fragrance. He hadn’t expected this—China showing up with flowers, looking so thoughtful and kind. It was almost too good to be true, and yet, it was happening.

China smiled softly, watching Russia’s reaction with a warmth in his chest. “I’m glad you like them. I’ve planned something for us tonight—something simple, but I think you’ll enjoy it.”

Russia nodded, still holding the flowers close. “I’m sure I will. Let me just put these in some water.” He stepped back, inviting China inside for a moment while he found a vase.

As Russia arranged the flowers in a vase, he couldn’t help but glance back at China, who was waiting patiently in the hallway. He looked so calm, so composed, yet there was a softness in his eyes that made Russia’s heart ache in a way he hadn’t felt in a long time. He had always been wary of getting close to anyone, especially after everything that had happened with Third Reich, Soviet, and America. But China… China had been different from the start. There was a kindness in him, a patience that made Russia feel like he could finally lower his guard.

Once the flowers were settled in their vase, Russia returned to China, who was waiting with a small, warm smile. “Shall we go?” China asked, offering his hand.

Russia looked at the hand for a moment, his heart pounding. He wasn’t used to such gentle gestures, but something about the way China held out his hand made him feel safe. Tentatively, he reached out and took China’s hand, feeling the warmth of his palm against his own.

China’s smile widened slightly as he gently squeezed Russia’s hand, leading him outside. The evening air was cool, but not too cold, and the sky was painted with the soft hues of dusk. They walked together, hand in hand, with China leading the way to the park he had chosen for their date.

As china drove, Russia felt a sense of peace settle over him. The world seemed quieter, calmer, with China by his side. They didn’t speak much during the drive, but the silence between them was comfortable, filled with a sense of understanding and mutual respect.

When they arrived at the park, the sun was just beginning to set, casting a golden glow over the trees and the grassy fields. China led Russia to a quiet spot under a large oak tree, where he had planned for them to sit. He spread out the blanket he had brought, placing the basket of snacks and tea on it before sitting down.

“Come, sit with me,” China said, patting the spot beside him.

Russia hesitated for just a moment before sitting down next to China, folding his legs beneath him. He glanced around, taking in the peaceful surroundings. The park was quiet, with only the faint rustling of leaves and the distant sound of birds singing in the trees. It was the perfect setting for their first date—simple, calm, and intimate.
