Russia sat on his living room floor, joyfully watching his three kittens play. Their tiny paws batted at a piece of string, and their playful antics brought a rare smile to his face. The kittens were a source of comfort and joy, a bright spot in his otherwise solitary days.
His phone rang, interrupting the peaceful scene. He glanced at the caller ID, but it was an unknown number. With a hint of curiosity, he answered.
"Hello?"
"Hello, Russia. It's China," came the familiar voice on the other end.
Russia was surprised. "China? It's been a while. What can I do for you?"
"Well, i was hoping you could come over to my house for a few days. It would be good to catch up and discuss our relationship," China said, his tone warm and inviting.
Russia considered the invitation. He hadn't spent much time with China recently, and it sounded like a nice change of pace. "Alright, I'll come. I'll head out tomorrow morning."
"Great! See you then," China replied before hanging up.
Russia then called Kazakhstan to let him know about his upcoming trip. "Kazakhstan, just wanted to let you know I'm going to China's for a few days. I'll be leaving tomorrow morning, i'll hide my wings too."
Kazakhstan sighed, knowing Russia's tendency to hide his wings in such situations. "Are you sure about hiding your wings, Russ? .”
Russia nodded. "I think it’s for the best, just to avoid any awkwardness."
Kazakhstan sighed again but relented. "Okay, just be careful."
"I will. Thanks," Russia said, hanging up.
He began gathering his things, packing a small suitcase with clothes and essentials. He also packed a separate bag for his kittens, ensuring they had food, toys, and a cozy bed for the journey.
The next morning, just as the sun began to rise, Russia set off. The kittens were nestled safely in their carrier beside him. The drive was peaceful, and he found himself enjoying the scenery. The fields of sunflowers and corn were a beautiful sight, the morning light casting a golden hue over everything.
As he neared China's homeland, he marveled at the beauty of the landscape. It was different from his own, yet equally captivating. He arrived at China's house, where China was waiting for him.
"Welcome, Russia," China greeted him warmly, taking the bags from his hands. "Come in, make yourself at home."
Russia smiled, holding the carrier with his kittens close. "Thank you, China. It's good to see you, again."
China led him inside, showing him to a guest room where he could settle in. Russia placed the kittens on the bed, and they immediately began exploring their new surroundings.
"Your home is beautiful," Russia remarked, looking around.
"Thank you. I'm glad you could come," China replied. "Let's catch up over some tea."
They moved to the living room, where China prepared a pot of tea. As they sat down, Russia felt a sense of ease. It was good to reconnect with an old friend.
"So, how have you been?" China asked, pouring the tea.
"I've been managing. Things have been quiet, which is a nice change," Russia replied, taking a sip of the fragrant tea.
