The grand hall was filled with a low hum of conversation and the soft clinking of coffee cups as the countries gathered for their routine world meeting. The room was a mosaic of national flags and dignitaries, each engaged in discussions about global issues. The air was tense with the weight of politics and diplomacy, but today, there was an undercurrent of excitement for those in the know.
China and Russia, their recent engagement still fresh, attended the meeting together. Their hands occasionally brushed against each other, the rings on their fingers gleaming subtly in the overhead lights. The buzz about their engagement had reached some of the attendees, and congratulations were in order.
Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia's other siblings greeted the couple with heartfelt smiles and warm words. Each gesture of congratulations was met with gratitude and affection from the newly engaged couple. North Korea, ever the playful soul, couldn't resist teasing China about the proposal, his amusement evident as he made light-hearted remarks.
China shot a sharp glare at North Korea, his cheeks flushing slightly with embarrassment. North Korea’s laughter only grew, much to Russia’s amusement. Russia, standing close to China, chuckled softly, his eyes twinkling with affection and pride. The warmth between them was palpable, drawing attention from those around them.
Ame, who had been observing from a distance, noticed the exchange with a mix of curiosity and frustration. His gaze was fixed on the couple, particularly the rings that glittered on their fingers. His mind raced as he tried to piece together the significance of what he had witnessed. The sight of China and Russia, so visibly happy and in love, stirred something unsettling within him.
As the meeting drew to a close, Ame’s frustration boiled over. He had been quietly seething, feeling a pang of jealousy and confusion. The realization that Russia was now engaged to China, someone he had long held a bitter resentment towards, struck him deeply. He had been acting out of a yandere-like obsession, clinging to the idea of possessing Russia despite knowing deep down he never truly could.
Determined to find out more, Ame decided to follow China and Russia discreetly as they exited the building. He utilized North Korea’s ability to create illusions, cloaking himself in an aura of invisibility to avoid detection. He trailed behind them, his steps light and cautious.
China and Russia walked hand-in-hand, their conversation punctuated with laughter and shared glances. They discussed the upcoming wedding with excitement and anticipation, the rings on their fingers now symbols of their commitment. As they made their way towards the parking lot, Ame, hidden from view, listened intently.
“I can’t believe how quickly this is all happening,” Russia said, his voice filled with wonder. “It feels like just yesterday we were talking about this.”
China smiled warmly, his eyes crinkling at the corners. “I know. But I wouldn’t change a thing. I’m looking forward to every moment we’ll share together.”
Ame’s heart pounded as he listened. The realization of what he was witnessing hit him like a sledgehammer. The couple’s joy and the symbols of their commitment—the rings—made it painfully clear that Russia was truly engaged to China. The notion of Russia being with someone else, especially China, was more than he could bear.
The finality of the situation struck Ame with a crushing weight. His mind whirled with frustration and disbelief. Russia was not his, nor would he ever be. The obsession that had driven him to follow and spy on them seemed futile now. He had been blinded by his possessive desires, unable to see the reality that was unfolding before him.
As China and Russia reached the car, their hands still intertwined, Ame’s resolve wavered. The sight of their genuine happiness and the love they shared made him question his own actions. With a heavy heart and a conflicted mind, he slowly backed away, retreating into the shadows. The illusions around him dissipated, revealing his presence to no one.
He watched from a distance as China helped Russia into the car, their shared laughter and contentment contrasting sharply with his own turmoil. The world seemed colder, the snow falling heavier as he walked away from the scene, his thoughts consumed by a mix of anger, jealousy, and a painful acceptance of reality.
As the car drove off into the distance, Ame was left standing alone, the echoes of their conversation and the sight of their happiness lingering in his mind. The bitterness of the moment was a stark reminder of his own shortcomings and the depths of his obsession, leaving him to grapple with the harsh truths of his emotions.
