The weeks blurred together in a haze of grief and confusion. Jean and Nat both did their best to lift my spirits, but I couldn't shake the feelings I was once again was going through after the trials. I was distant from Kate and I felt terrible about it. She didn't deserve this. But every time I tried to face her, guilt and confusion overwhelmed me. I felt torn by everything—my past with Wanda, my present with Kate, and the weight of our mission.

Tony seemed to notice my internal struggle. He approached me one afternoon, a gentle yet determined look in his eyes. "Hey, kid," he said, his tone softer than usual. "I want to show you something. Maybe it'll bring you a bit of happiness."

I followed him, curious and grateful for the distraction. We walked through the compound, and he led me to a cozy, sunlit room. As we entered, I froze. Kate was already there, playing with a little girl who had an infectious laugh.

I took a deep breath, preparing myself to face Kate. She looked up as we entered, her eyes locking onto mine. There was a flicker of something—hurt, maybe disappointment—but she quickly masked it with a smile. "Y/N, come meet Morgan," she said, her voice warm despite the tension between us.

Morgan turned her bright eyes to me, and at that moment, the weight on my chest lightened just a bit. She ran over to me, her tiny hands grabbing mine. "Hi! I'm Morgan! Are you my new friend?" she asked, her voice filled with innocent excitement.

I knelt down to her level, smiling despite myself. "Hi, Morgan. I'm Y/N. It's nice to meet you. I would love to be your friend."

She beamed, her joy contagious. "Daddy says you're a superhero! Can you teach me to be a superhero too?"

Tony chuckled from behind me. "She's already got the spirit, huh?"

"Daddy?" I questioned, turning towards Tony, stunned.

"Um...yeah. Y/N, this is my daughter, Morgan Stark." Tony seemed shy all of a sudden, but I was still stuck in my shock. Tony had a daughter. Why didn't he tell me? I had no time to dwell on the question. Morgan quickly pulled me next to Kate and gave me some of her toys to play with.

As I spent time with Morgan, her boundless energy and pure heart began to chip away at the darkness inside me. She quickly won me over with her charm, her laughter, and her unfiltered happiness. It was hard to stay lost in my sorrow when she was around, pulling me into her world of make-believe and joy.

But every now and then, I caught glimpses of Kate watching us, a mix of relief and worry in her eyes. I knew I needed to talk to her, to explain everything, but I still wasn't sure how. For now, I focused on Morgan, letting her light guide me through the darkness. I found myself genuinely smiling and laughing. Morgan's spirit was infectious, and for the first time in days, I felt a glimmer of happiness.

Later, as we prepared to leave, Tony pulled me aside. "Thanks for spending time with Morgan," he said, his voice sincere. "She really likes you."

"I like her too," I admitted. "She's...special. But Tony, why didn't you ever mention Morgan before? She's four years old, and you never thought to bring it up?"
