Y/N's POV

I rushed to the Benatar, the adrenaline of what I was about to do buzzing through my veins. Rocket and Nebula were already there, making last-minute checks on the ship's systems. As I approached, I could see the concern etched on their faces, but they kept their word—they hadn't told anyone else.

"Thanks for keeping this quiet," I said, my voice low as I approached them.

Rocket grunted, glancing up from the control panel. "Yeah, well, I was hoping that you might want to reconsider, but I guess not."

Nebula's expression was more neutral, but there was a flicker of something in her eyes. "This mission—it's not one you should do alone," she said, her voice as cold and calculating as ever, but with a hint of caution.

I shook my head. "I can't risk them. This is something I have to do on my own. You know what's at stake."

Rocket sighed, his fingers dancing over the controls. "Fine."

There was no turning back now. I was committed. The silence in the cockpit was thick, broken only by the low hum of the ship's systems as Rocket prepped for takeoff. Yet something felt off—there was a delay, and each passing second seemed to stretch into an eternity. "Is there a problem?" I asked, trying to mask the anxiety tightening in my chest.

Rocket glanced over his shoulder, flashing a quick, reassuring grin. "Nope, just waiting for someone."

"Y/N," Vision's voice cut through the tension, calm but firm. I froze, my hand hovering over my seat buckle as I turned to face him. His expression remained unreadable, but his eyes—those kind, perceptive eyes—were filled with worry.

"Where are you going?" he asked, stepping closer. There was no accusation in his tone, only a quiet expectation that I would confide in him.

My throat tightened. I tried to muster a casual response, something to deflect his concern, but the words wouldn't come. Instead, all the fear, guilt, and overwhelming sense of responsibility I'd been holding back came crashing down, and before I knew it, tears began to spill over.

"I... I was trying... I'm going to bring them all back, Vis," I admitted, my voice trembling. "The Soul Stone—"

Vision's brow furrowed in confusion. "Why are you forcing Nebula and Rocket to take you alone?"

His gentle probing was too much. The dam I had built to contain my emotions burst, and everything I had been holding inside came pouring out. "Because I have to do it, Vision!" I cried, the desperation in my voice echoing in the small cockpit. "I have to be the one to get the Soul Stone. No one else should have to pay that price. It has to be me!"

He stepped closer, his presence a calming force in the storm of my emotions. "Y/N, why do you believe you have to do this alone?"

"I've seen what the Soul Stone demands! What Thanos did to collect it. He sacrificed his own daughter, Nebula's sister. I can't let anyone else die for this. It has to be me. Tony finished the gauntlet. All the contingency plans are in place. Everything is set. I've made sure of it." I exclaimed, my voice breaking.

Vision looked at me with a mixture of sorrow and compassion. "You're willing to sacrifice yourself for the greater good, and that's noble, but do you think Wanda would want this? Do you think any of us would? We need you, Y/N. Wanda needs you when she comes back... when they all come back."

"I don't know what else to do, Vision," I whispered, my voice trembling with the weight of my confession. "I feel like I'm out of options."

Vision gently guided me to sit down. "Are we ready to depart?" he asked, turning to Rocket.
